There is something really carnal and shallow about rating people like this.
It's just how it is, everyone has a subconscious rating of others, as the eyes are the prince of the sense, physical appearance is the first thing we see. And when it comes to relationships, it's usually either those this person meet the baseline I'm attracted to or not. Goes tor both men and women.

Nice try with the strawman. Obviously noticing physical attractiveness is a reasonable part of human existence.

I am referring to scrutinizing someone’s looks to the point of rating them like we’re in a beauty pageant, and as if these ratings are objective.

People have different tastes. Objective beauty is found in health and proportionality.

It has to do with the whatness of what makes someone attractive. There are objectives features that are better than others, eg good skin.

Yes people have different preferences but there is a measure of objectivity in beauty.

As a mother, I would not be excited if my daughter brought home a young man who dyed his hair and wore it as messy as the gentleman in the pictures posted here.

Our bodies are temples of the Holy Ghost. I believe our outer appearance should reflect that.

God created us with intention.  That includes all physically good qualities AND flaws.  It seems as if by trying to change our physical attributes using modern surgery, medicine, chemicals, etc for pure aesthetics, we are essentially telling God, "You got it wrong.  I can do better."

My opinion applies to men and women!

Why? Because you're controlling? When you nitpick this much, you have to wonder if the problem is you. "Wearing the hair messy" is an issue for you?
