I understand that it's cosmetics... But surely it enhances men's confidence a lot? Balding/receding hairline is not great for getting girls or job opportunities either.

Definitely the sin of vanity.

How would a receding hairline or baldness have an impact on job opportunities?
All men and women are envious of receding hairlines when they conduct job interviews. Completely bald on top with long side burns is usually best, particularly for those under 25 years old will help them win the job - extra points if you are wearing small round wire rimmed glasses with a thick mustache.

Some women prefer bald men. Patrick Stewart and Mitch Pileggi have cult followings.
Those are celebrities.

.

Just vanity. And what makes you think having baldness makes it harder to get a job?

I don’t think there’s any Church rules on having a hair transplant. If a man wants one, why not?  Just don’t spend money that should be for more important things. As a woman, I’m not partial to a man having a head of hair, skimpy hair, or even bald. Just make sure it looks natural. Ie. If you’re a 78 year old grandpa, don’t go and get yourself a black Afro transplant!

I don’t have any problem with women getting a hair transplant, either. Just have it look natural.
I mean, with the amount of money it'll cost, I think there are surely many more important things it can be spent on.
