For those who don’t have access to Confession/Mass, how do you do it? I live a few hours when I can go to mass but I am unable to go to Confession. I sit back during Holy Communion every time I do end up going to mass and I feel like I’m the only one doing this and feel kind of bad. I’m also have a young child that I bring with me. I converted in the Novus Ordo recently and go to a SSPX church a few times a year. I would like some spiritual direction on making a good confession. I didn’t receive this from my former NO priest. I have read books but I rather talk to a priest. Should I just do it over the phone with one of the priests? I also feel like because they’re driving long distances to say mass, that their time is limited. I feel like my faith is struggling and my husband is not supportive/not Catholic.

Yes, even when you live closer, there are far too many "mission" chapels where the priest flies in has 30 minutes to hear Confessions and then has to fly out immediately to the next one ... while certain priories have a half dozen priests just living the good life with expensive wines.
One thing you could try ...
1) Eastern Rite priests (mostly valid, though watch out for NO transfers)
2) old priests ordained before Vatican II (in my diocese there are still a handful out there ... some may be in care homes but can still be visited)
As for direction about a good Confession, you could certainly do that part over the phone and/or probably find good videos out there about it, or little books or booklets. It's mostly about knowing which sins you must confess (mortal sins) and forming as close to perfect (but at least imperfect) contrition as you can.

Is there any way you can arrive sooner to get into confession? Can you catch the priest after Mass to discuss your situation. A retreat center/priory would be a good option to try for calling to get spiritual direction. Certainly there are some zealous priests willing to do much more than others to help, but unfortunately there are many who can't find the time, effort, desire or ability to accommodate anything extra.
Definitely read spiritual books regularly. joyfulcatholic.com, TAN books, Angelus Press, ect

You may want to call the priest or talk to him after Mass and ask about arranging for confession after the last Mass or at some time good for him.

Part of the reason is the distance but as a convert I’m also struggling with certain sins and then I feel hopeless. I don’t know if my sins are grave or not. If I truly feel like I will stop after confessing. I think I need to make a general confession and I would need a good amount of time. I haven’t really talked to anyone at the parish and I did email one of the priests in advance coming to a mission but didn’t get a response. I guess I could try harder but I’m kind of intimidated.

How does distance prevent you from going to confession? Why not just get there early, be first in line, and go in and explain everything?
