There is on our earth a class of men deserving of quite especial charity and compassion, and yet we refuse them charity and compassion more than we do others. The class I refer to consists of those whom we call great men. [...] Ordinary men - and above all, peculiarly little men - experience a certain charm, a certain pleasure, in attacking great men. There is much of the spirit of revenge mixed up with this pleasure. - Ernest Hello

Adolf Hitler was such a great man.

    A) Read Mit Brennender Sorge.

    B) "In 1937, Hans Kerrl, the nαzι Minister for Church Affairs, explained "Positive Christianity" as not "dependent upon the Apostle's Creed", nor in "faith in Christ as the son of God", upon which Christianity relied, but rather, as being represented by the nαzι Party: "The Fuehrer is the herald of a new revelation", he said."

This "Positive Christianity" is a contradiction to what it means to be Catholic

It's neat because the number 1488 represents Hitler, who was actually good.

Also retracted. While I wouldn't go as far as calling Hitler good, I do maintain that he was a great man in the world-historical sense, that his anti-Jєωιѕн policies were laudable, and that those who make of sport of kvetching at WWII-era nationalists should find something better to do.

Fascinating link, by Poche.  Never read this before.

    Quote
Whoever exalts race, or the people, or the State, or a particular form of State, or the depositories of power, or any other fundamental value of the human community - however necessary and honorable be their function in worldly things - whoever raises these notions above their standard value and divinizes them to an idolatrous level, distorts and perverts an order of the world planned and created by God; he is far from the true faith in God and from the concept of life which that faith upholds.

This is a bit in conflict with many in the Alt-Right movement.

Opposition to racial segregation and racist hatred by whatever name has always been an important part of the tradition of the Catholic Church.

Hatred is wrong.  Segregation is not.  In fact, in this current time, segregation would do a better job of protecting the Faithful, especially the young, and keeping them in the faith, than what integration--as proven--does at converting.

It would also keep non Catholic people from learning first hand about the Faith.

His anti Jєωιѕн policies were condemned by Pope Pius XI

  • The word "Jew" doesn't come up a single time in the encyclical.

  • I wonder what St Max. Kolbe thought about Hitler and the nαzιs?  Not sure he was such a fan.

It doesn't have to. the meaning behind what Pope Pius XI said applies to all of us not just to the Jews.

  • If Hitler were such a great friend to the  Catholic Church and Catholic civilization then why is it that the largest cemetery of Catholic priests is at Dachau?

He was arrested and sent to Auschwitz, where he died. He gave his life in exchange for a Jew.
St Maximilian Kolbe is in Heaven. I only hope that on my day of trial I will be as faithful to the Holy Gospels as he was.
