I’m watching live, and at the 3:28:30’ish mark, the Bishop is giving a sermon.  He is wishing everyone happy Easter.  So, I thought that although the Church ended Lent after the morning vigil, she did not yet Easter until Sunday.  However it seems I was wrong, as he is wishing the people happy Easter.  And the Church apparently did this for 1,650 years.  Confusing for those of us raised on Bugnini.

Also a good explanation of how since the 4th century, the Easter vigil was moved to the daytime.

He is also explaining what a glorious Lenten gift it is to Jesus to fatigue ourselves by attending these long services (4+ hours by the time Holy Saturday ends).

What is the explanation for "haec nox est" and "O vere beata nox" at 9am?

The mystical explanation is like to "o felix culpa" - praising divine providence for allowing the darkness of fallen man in order to better show forth the brightness of His Light.  The practical explanation is that long ago there were a sufficient number of baptisms on Easter Vigil to necessitate pushing the start further and further back ad absurdum.  While the irony of the phrase being used in the morning is obvious, I find it a far greater irony to attend a "pre-bugnini" holy week performed within the post-Bergoglio "church."  Its very akin to Ratzinger the arch-modernist dressing in all the trappings of tradition - or a woman in a cassock at Canterbury.
