This Saint had a mental handicap. He over came it with hard work and prayer. https://youtu.be/eXxOLNRBdXw
He didnt have a handicap. He had a broken will which was why he was humble and simple. He came from a background of abuse, so he had no ego when he spoke to god.He esteemed himself worthless and without worldly dignity which is the correct way to approach god.It is easier for a camel to pass through a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of god.People respect money, power, privilege, social status. Everyone heaps contempt on the poor, the "nutjobs", the ones without honor in society, the stigmatized underclasses of society, but God listens to them more to them and smiles on their unusual devotional practices and not on a person without depth, who is consumed by peer approval and worldly respect, governed by "Prudence", who does not see themselves as wretched or desperate before god, who does not kneel before god but stands tall like an equal, who asks for things they want, not for what god wants, who think god is a business partner, who thinks they have dignity before god, who does not think they will be judged, who does not depend on god but on their own power.
