Why are most people so blind?

It doesn't seem to get much attention but they are raised with values clarification in the church and schools. They do not hold absolute truths and are NOT  taught to do right instead it's how do they feel and what is the outcome.  This is part of the reason why in our society we see people having sympathy towards heinous acts like murder of children and the sick or elderly.
I think with the older people above 55 or 60  or so it might be about authority but the younger ones I think for the most part values clarification had really messed up their mind to make judgements like this is bad this is good. And when they do, they doubt themselves and are swayed again.

Also they may not know of tradition. They don't have Letters to Confused Catholics in the NO lobbies.

Vatican II is like the Vietnam War for gen X's and younger. It's not something they remember. Younger people may have no concept at all that things were different before.

I have more respect for those that leave the Novus Ordo and stop going to Mass altogether than those that stay. Since the New Mass is so full of sacrilege, the more you go, the more you sin, and the daily communicants are the greatest sinners, except of course for the Extraordinary Ministers and of course the priests (If they are really priests).

I have relatives who are in their early 70's now.  They are very much conformists and when Vatican II began to be implemented, well that was the law of the Church.  And when laws of this country were altered ... or things like abortion were permitted, well that was the law of the land.  They are incapable of questioning things or thinking outside the box.  They avoid confrontation and introspection and do what they have to do to go along and get along.  They were more strict in their expression of the Faith when they were raising their children.  However, they changed with the times.  Most of their children have fallen away from the Church and do not practice even basic Christianity.  For example, relative "gave his daughter away" in her THIRD "wedding" ceremony a few years back.  He refused to attend her FIRST wedding to a non Catholic at a garden wedding facility 25 years ago .... But now it's all different.  Now it's all okay.  I guess people follow because they don't want to be responsible.  They don't want conflict and tension and bitterness.  They want life to be easy.  Funny how that really doesn't happen, because even at their very best efforts, they're still dealing with the repercussions of their children's "issues."  I pray for their conversion every day.
