Our family campsite way off the beaten path in Racquette Lake, NY. It was on the lake, nestled amongst the pines. We had a one room rustic cabin. The best time of year to go is summer, late spring, early autumn. Winter IS nice, too, but it’s difficult to access unless the road is frozen solid. My cousins owned the place, but they seldom used it. My family got the most use of it. The only time it’s impossible to get in without a four wheel drive is mud season, usually March. Once, we left the car in town and rented a pickup truck for Easter week.
