  • In order to change perceptions about Resistance and Sedes only caring about doctrine, but practicing little charity, I wanted to start an anonymous thread where Resistance and sedes could tell about their good deeds, anonymously to avoid pride or vainglory.

So, what have you Resistance and sedes done lately by way of charity (examples could be material, spiritual, corporal, etc)?

  • In the last 2 months I have:

    1) Given $200 to a poor woman seeking counseling at the pro-life center

    2) Given $500 to Sr. Elizabeth

    3) Donated $1,000 worth of bread to my chapel and to the local food shelf

    4) Had Masses said for the dead

    5) Offered many family Rosaries for various intentions.

  • Matthew, it's Good Friday.  Please delete this post.

I don't know if he or she is a troll, lacks intelligence, or is of evil intent, but this is highly offensive to Our Lord, Our Lady, and all of Heaven.  Our Blessed Lord said, "Let the right hand not know what the left hand doeth."  "Be not as the Pharisees, who love to be seen putting gold in the offering and blowing trumpets before them in the street to be seen of men."  "Do you see this widow, [unnamed by Christ, although He surely knew exactly who she was!], she has given more than all these others."  In the Old Testament, we are admonished to "Let another man praise thee, and not thyself."

Or perhaps everyone in CathInfo Land would be edified by a litany of my humility?

  • Umm...anonymous mean anonymous.  What part about an anonymous list of good deeds exactly do you find offensive??

    What a weirdo!

  • Yes, by all means follow the example of Pope Francis the humble, who had himself mentioned several times during the latest "Stations" in Rome, mentioning how he had denounced some example of injustice, and demanding to know why every hadn't responded.  It was disgusting.

Do you have some kind of learning disability?

The fact that you refer to yourself in the first person, I, me, my is offensive to Our Lord, especially on the day He died because of your sins and mine  Even though you don't name yourself, either IRL, or by a Web name, the fact is that you're tooting your own horn.  Want to edify others and inspire to good works?  Attribute your good deeds to God or to another.
Yes. I'm a weirdo, several priests and one bishop have referred to me as that, and I have a learning disability.  There's much more and much worse.

  • It seems to me that to toot ones own horn, even anonymously, is still a prideful act. God knows the good deeds we may have performed. No need to crow about them, rather we should rebuke ourselves for those good things we failed to do when we had the opportunity.

  • Dear OP-

    What an epic fail!

Not one other Resistance or sede person could list a single good deed.

Instead, you got heckled by a couple old ladies for even trying (lol!).

I dare say, even at this early juncture, this thread will be end up proving exactly the opposite of what you hoped it would!

  • Well, I can't contribute because I am neither Resistance or Sedevacantist.

  • I helped junior Legion of Mary (trad. Homeschoolers) hand out Catholic literature. I even handed out Catholic literature to Moslems praying it will lead them to Jesus.

We donated tent so trad scouts can use.

We donated clothing to help those in need.

We went DC for Pro Life March.

We donated money directly to those who are fighting cancer.

We have a Catholic float in 4 th July parade.

We participate in Rosary rallies when we can.

I try to be extra courteous when driving.

I’m not posting this to brag.

It's the anonymous section. If username were attached I'd agree, but with anonymity no one can take credit or "virtue signal" for their good deeds. Rather it just serves to motivate people reading through the thread to do more good themselves.

A rose by any other name is still a rose.
In other words, pride is still pride no matter how you want to mask it.

It seems you are going to be right:
Those with no good deeds are accusing those who do them of pride.
SSPXers must be laughing at the dysfunctional Resistance and sedes!
