  • I just want to put this out there…

When my teenage daughter was killed in a car accident, one of the first things I did was to call our parish priest horrified as to what state she may have been in when she died. (He is the old guard and i will not give his name as he reads on this forum and does not like his name on here though many of you have expressed high regard for him and the excellent sermons he gave in the past).

To offer me consolation, he told me the story of a man who had jumped off a bridge to commit ѕυιcιdє and his wife went to the Cure´of Ars and wept bitterly that her husband had committed ѕυιcιdє and St. John Vianey told her that from the time her husband jumped, to the time he hit the water, he had made a perfect act of contrition.

Take it for what it’s worth, though it helped me through one of the bitterest times in my life.

    Interesting...
I had a traditional priest who i held in high regard tell me that no sane person would ever commit ѕυιcιdє.

I heard this same story from my priest but it was her son not husband. I wonder if it's a real story and not a modernist trick.
