  • I have been reminded of an incident involving a priest who was on the news, found in his skivvies in a motel. I could not find any updates.

I thought that this would be grounds for suspension. Such as what happened to this priest for supporting gαy rights

The first priest mentioned was reassigned to a parish in a much, much smaller town in the same diocese he had been serving. Is this the norm? Reassignment?  I would be appalled to find him as my next priest.

  • What happens to individual priests would depend on the bishop and the priest himself.
In the first instance the information is preliminary and while it doesn't look good we would have to wait and see what happens.
In the second instance the bishop did the right thing. When a Catholic priest makes a public denial of a major Catholic doctrine then maybe he should not be acting as a Catholic priest. Failure to uphold Catholic doctrine and practice is why we have many of the problems today.

  • "Hall’s ministry, DeBernardo said, “is in line with the church’s own authentic teaching that its ministers must reach out to all those who have been marginalized. He is in line with Pope Francis’ more pastoral and welcoming approach towards LGBT people.”"

The problem with the Church is that it condones sin.  There are more sodomist related groups and ministries then Holy Name of Jesus Societies. It is sodomy and the rape of children why the Church is selling off properties while sodomists continue their rich Hollywood lifestyles.
The Sodomists are in the highest positions in Church, politics, Hollywood, theatre, music industry, teachers, media, art, etc. They are everywhere.   From Rome to even traditional Catholic groups..
It is a cancer in most seminaries too.  However, the majority of people in the USA and the world do not accept the sin of sodomy.  The laity is to blame for allowing it to continue.   It is up to the faithful to restore the true Catholic faith.  At this time, most of the Catholic Church is in a state of apostasy.  The 4 Marks of the Catholic Church needs to be restored. The resistance needs to be from within the Church.  The resistance to satan starts from within.  Anything outside the Church is not Catholic.

  • Forgot to mention.   In regards to the SSPX.   Was it ever outside the Catholic Church?
It was shunned and suppressed but never outside the Catholic Church.
While Archbishop Lefebvre was consecrating 4 bishops Rome remained silent when sodomist priests raped innocent children.  The sodomists "Catholics"including sodomist clergy in USA even supported a liar, thief, pro death , pro sodomy atheist presidential candidate and Vice President "Catholic"pervert  who are traitors to God and Country.     Sodomists were protected and promoted and still are.
Sodomists and liberals should have been excommunicated.
Rome continues to promote sodomists and liberals because the laity remains silent.
Every true Catholic should be disgusted at what happened in Post Falls.  Any clergy involved should have been defrocked...

This has been the problem in the Conciliar church for decades.  When a priest was caught doing things he should not be doing (like altar boys), he was simply reassigned.  The difference is that the actions that should result in being removed the priesthood can be found on the internet.

Note:  Why was the "quote" feature disabled?  The system gave me a message, but it was in "Techy" and I didn't understand it.

In this instance I think it should be remembered that the priests are drawn for ordinary men. Just like the apostles they have flaws also. Judas sold Jesus for thirty pieces of silver and Peter denied Jesus three times. So, if you are saying to yourself, I don't to to mass or confession because of priests like 'him' who have done worse things than I could ever think of maybe what you are really saying is that you love your sin more than you love God.
Remember, the time mercy is now. As Pope Francis said "There is no sin that is too great that it cannot be forgiven." That only applies in this life. In the next life the time of mercy will be over. Five minutes after we die we will all have to stand before the judge and the tem of justice will be upon us. Every time that you reject the opportunity to go to confession or Holy Mass will be presented before you to stand in accusation.
In the case of the priests like this one let us pray for him and hope that God will give us a merciful judgment.

I thought this was interesting (at one of those sites):

The Newark Archdiocese said that was also a problem because “someone who labels himself or another in terms of sɛҳuąƖ orientation or attraction contradicts what the (Catholic) Church teaches.”

    YES!

    I love it..

I'm so tired of wimpy Catholics, priests and bishops and cardinals not calling a spade a spade. I always knew that the Church says whether "gαy" or not you have to be celibate.. but here is someone saying more: that labeling yourself by sɛҳuąƖ orientation contradicts the Church!

God, make all priests like that![/size]

yes, the Church is quite wimpy. I guess a lot of hierarchy are "afraid" that the world won't like them..

    wahhhhhhhh!

Did Jesus care if everyone liked Him?

Unless you hate your brother, father, mother, children... you are not worthy of Him
