  • SSPX Sanford Hijacks October Rosary March

The SSPX priory in Sanford Florida has by a sleight of hand completely changed the purpose of the annual October Rosary March for the Consecration of Russia, the purpose for which has taken place all over the USA for decades, and has changed it to a Prolife march. That’s it, end of the annual October Rosary March for the Consecration of Russia which has taken place in Sanford for 20 years.

Here is the bulletin link:   http://www.sspxflorida.com/sites/sspx/files/media/usa-p-orlando/pdf/sanford_bulletin_september_13th_2020.pdf

Here is what it says in the calendar:
October 4th: Rosary/ Pro Life March at the Veteran’s Memorial at noon

This is how the Vatican II church changed everything.

  • Did Fr. Scott Settimo and Fr. Sean Gerrity come from the SSPX seminary or did the come from outside the SSPX?

  • 1) Is this new pro-life March an exclusively STM event, or is it tied to a diocesan agenda?

    2) Sanford has 8 priests???  How many faithful???

    3) Fr. Gerrity was formed in Winona; not sure about Settimo.

PS: Is the foul mouthed toilet plunger guest priest from Central America still there?

  • According to this thread, Fr. Settimo is a Novus Ordo priest living at and offering Mass at the SSPX Sanford Priory:

Before that, he was at the SSPX priory in Phoenix.

And he wasn't conditionally ordained?  So if the faithful go to receive Holy Communion at Sanford, they might be faced with doubtful Sacraments (if they hold the NO Rite of Ordination to be doubtful).

No idea whether he was conditionally ordained or not.

  • The October marches originated with Fr. Gruner, and other Fatima groups. Did the SSPX as a USA corporate policy do any marches for Fatima or was it just the SSPX faithful individually at each chapel undertake it themselves?

I've been told that the French SSPX do not do the Leonine Prayers and have not since like 1962, when Paul VI suppressed the prayers. France has always had a big communist problem (that is why they were overrun so quickly by the Germans in WWII, it was a divided country). It looks like the SSPX does not really believe in Fatima and the conversion of Russia.

  • Derailing the October Fatima Public Rosary* is significant.

Wasn't this same SSPX Priory a key participant in hijacking the Quito Ecuador Feast Day procession of Our Lady of Good Success ?

Fr. Purdy and Jade Liboro working on behalf of the SSPX, spearheaded that campaign.

    * Actually, Our Lady requested a public Rosary procession.

That makes it even worse, makes the SSPX cowards for changing the faithful’s noble intentions away from what Our Lady requested.

  • Well, it IS interesting that they would cancel or morph the consecration of Russia procession into a pro-life march.  I mean, it’s not like they couldn’t have done both on different dates, but instead chose to suppress the one altogether by replacing it with one intended for another purpose.

That’s what makes it curious to me.

This makes no sense to me, as the SSPX did not even exist in 1962.

They certainly used to.  I know I've heard Bp. Fellay say things that indicate he doesn't believe it, at least not in the way most Catholics do.  As for what all of the XSPX believes about it these days, it's probably a mixed bag among their priests, and perhaps it is one of the topics they're not supposed to talk publicly about anymore.   ???

  • I have heard more from SSPX priests about Our Lady of Good Success than Fatima. Though I have never heard one of them say he did not believe in Fatima, though I remember Bp. Tissier in an interview refusing to speak about Fatima, dismissing it as a "private revelation." But I think the focus on Good Success in my experience was because we had Fr. Purdy for a couple of years and Fr. Sulzen and theyu both go to Quito for pilgrimages and Purdy is the SSPX point man of that operation. Fatima has not come up nearly as much from our SSPX priests as it does in Catholic forums online where Fatima is more important than the beheading of St. John the Baptist.

  • Now it all makes sense why the Sanford prior, a Frenchmen,  replaced the Leonine Prayers with a weather blessing prayer. Before there was a priory, the Sanford chapel faithful always did the Leonine Prayers, and also did the Weather Blessing  after all the Low Masses. After the prior arrived, one day he just decided to  give priority to the weather blessing during the hurricane season and the Leonine Prayers were no longer said, unless,  sometimes there was a second low mass and even then the Weather Blessing was sometimes said twice and no Leonine prayers were said. The hurricane season lasts from June1 to November 30th. The Leonine prayers are said the rest of the year.
It looks to me like that’s another indicator that the French do not really believe in the consecration of Russia, for if they did, they would at the very least give priority to the Leonine Prayers. What they really should have done is what the faithful always did during the hurricane season, they did both.
After all, what is more important a weather prayer or a prayer for the conversion of Russia (Defeat of the nєω ωσrℓ∂ σr∂єr)?

  • Let me see:

    - The annual October Rosary March for the Consecration of Russia co-opted into a Pro-Life march

    - A Novus Ordo priest mixed in with SSPX priests, exposing the faithful to doubtful Sacraments

    - Hijacking the Quito Ecuador Feast Day procession of Our Lady of Good Success

    - The Leonine prayers replaced by a weather blessing

Sounds like any parish in the USA in 1965 after being taken over by a “hip modern young prior”.
