You know how protestants accuse Catholics of idolatry for having religious images yet they don't mind any other kind of image? If you think about it holding that religious images are ok but others are not makes more sense. This one protestant who came on this chatroom and accused Catholics of idolatry for having images and when people pointed out instances in the Bible where God commands the use of images he responds with "It says make unto thyself. Those images were requested by God and made for God while Catholics make icons for themselves." Well technically we do make the images for God and every instance of images in the Bible is in a religious context so it would make more sense for them to oppose secular images rather than religious images since secular images are made for our own good. Thoughts on this take? (I don't hold secular images to be evil btw)
