And even then, it wouldn't surprise me if some NO priests wanted to privately, join the SSPX. The current generation are very orthodox. Publicly, they would be reprimanded if they ever expressed as such. They're given everything and by themselves, have very little expenses. They would not risk that.

I thought this was the case in the local diocese I’m in the territory of. But the truth is, a lot of, if not most, of them, give into the subtle manipulation of their Bishops and outwardly modernist superiors. One young Novus Ordo priest told my friend that it’s okay for one to go to the SSPX even after the excommunications. But when asked if he would celebrate a Latin Mass even secretly (it’s not allowed here), he said that he couldn’t do it at all or he would be punished.

Plus the priests who actually do end up thinking for themselves are priests like the secretly “hardcore” FSSP priests who won’t carry their convictions to their logical conclusion and leave the conciliar church. Then they would have to wade through the whole mess of whether or not their Orders are valid, and the SSPX probably wouldn’t conditionally reordain all of them.
