Nothing will change in my opinion. The SSPX has continued to have large growth even after the February announcement of the consecration of new bishops. Catholics have reached their tipping point with the NO mass, gαys and ɧoɱosɛҳųαƖs being married and blessed in the church, woman bishops invited to meet the Pope, clown masses, drag queen masses, and the list goes on and on. The SSPX chapels will be busting at the seams even more now.

False on several counts.  No, SSPX have not continued to "have large growth" since the February announcement.  Even had these events NOT transpired, there would have been very miniscule and modest growth over that short a time period anyway.  In a GOOD year, they don't grow dramatically in a four month period outside of some unexpected development (e.g. COVID and Novus Ordo church closed, or something like that).  So ... you make that up and pull it from your posterior in your wishful thinking.

They had managed to retain the status quo, since, obviously you don't leave simply on account of something that might happen in the future.  Even the most timid were just holding on, hedging their bets, hoping for a last minute deal ... since even they're not stupid enough to believe that you incur excommunication for announcing your intention to consecrate in the future.

In addition, very few expected that the laity would be excommunicated, but thought it would be the bishops only, like last time, and not even the priests.  So, the only time they directly would be impacted would be if a priests who had been ordained by one of the new bishops happened to show up at their particular chapel, and since ordinations had just taken place, that eventuality would be at least a year off, and ... who knows? ... a lot could happen in a year and SSPX reconciled once again with Rome.

Significant percentages of the current swell of laity has been the direct result of having been appeased and lured in by the SSPX saying, "ah, look, we have jurisdiction".  I have been talking to them, and they were in fact scared excrement-less by the prospect of even just the bishops being exommunicated, and I can assure you those people are having cold seats even as we speak.

And your litany of complaints is utterly idiotic.  They can flee those by going to an Eastern Rite church, as many have already done, or find a more conservative priest somewhere, etc.

SSPX have been preaching for a decade now the extreme urgency of maintaining good relations with Rome, in condemning the Resistance types.

Not sure what weed you're smoking, but you're going to be in for a rude awakening.

I'm not smoking anything. Yes, it is very true that sspx chapels are growing. And to a very large extent. Hense why we needed more bishops.  Their schools are busting literally at the seams. They are building more buildings to accommodate the growth. The new seminary is full so much that first year seminarians are being placed at the old grounds in MN. Many started coming over during covid and are continuing to do so. The parish I attend, the school is having to turn students away because we have no more room. My family in other parishes are experiencing the same. People's eyes are opening and they are seeing the truth now. I can tell your on the defence. You don't need to be so condescending by stating to those who disagree with you that they are smoking something. If it's not true, then you don't need to get so upset, do you!

I don't know.

Ever since the local bishop shut down the indults around here, the SSPX chapel in my area has gained a ton of new parishioners, my guess is about +40% are new since Jan or Feb. It's to the point that it's pretty much been standing room only for both Masses -  and still growing. So much so that they're building a new Church and school.

Time will tell what they do, but it would not surprise me too much if this whole batch of conciliar bs ended up adding even more people to the SSPX - including NO priests - largely for the reasons given in reply #9.

Then again, when PBXVI's motu came out, a whole lot of people left to go back to the indults, so who knows?

I generally agree with Lad. Bishops getting canned is one thing, the laity is something altogether different whether it's legit or not. Excomunication in regards to the laity was only rumored to spoken of a couple of weeks ago. We'll see who runs and who stays. Much of this will depend on specific chapels and whether indult chapels are close by. I want to see if they take pics downs in the vestibules.

Let us know in about a month how many are still there after finding out about their own excommunication. https://www.cathinfo.com/sspx-resistance-news/path-prepared-for-those-bailing-from-sspx-ship/msg1033039/
