This is so typical CathInfo. A poster praises and thanks God for the true gift of Confession, and here comes some holier-than-thou cretin to ask about jurisdiction. It's sickening, really.

Without proper jurisdiction a priest cannot forgive sins in the Sacrament of Penance. If the OP is truly a Traditional Catholic he gets this, and did his homework before his Confession. How do you know the OP received the "true gift of Confession." It shows true charity for his soul for me to bring this essential point up.

It is also true charity to bring up that Supplied Jurisdiction and Epekia are sometimes legitimately invoked by Traditional Catholic clergy.

Please provide the names of 12 "Traditional Catholic clergy" you know who:

    1. Never publicly adhered to a non-Catholic sect, such as the novus order.

    2. Have always obeyed Pius XII's solemnly defined teaching (found in his encyclical, "Ad Apostolorum Principis" of June, 29, 1958) which pertains to the absolute necessity of obtaining a Papal Mandate, prior to the consecration of a bishop.

This sounds like the new member here called "magisterium" who follows the supposed Siri pope Greg18.

    1. The Novus Ordo isn't a sect until a pope publicly declares them excommunicated.

    2. The encyclical mentioned indicates that it is not divine law to require a papal mandate, so this means in an emergency, it is not needed.

Is "magisterium" David Hobson aka the Hobgoblin?

I just wanted to thank God because I went to confession today for the first time in a while and I hope it was a good confession. I wasn't able to receive communion today but I will next Sunday, God willing. I always feel good after I go to confession and today I felt very good. The reason I was unable to go to confession for a while was because I was trapped in a sin, but I escaped and now I am free of it. Thanks to God.

It is good you are contrite. May I ask what the priest you confessed to today, claimed as how he had received canonical mission (jurisdiction) to forgive sins?

It is indeed very telling that novus ordites, who openly profess that all religions lead to God, will then get very technical about confession from a priest who is not in line with the "all roads point to Heaven" crowd.

So, the person here who adds a "jurisdiction" problem to a contrite confession, is actually doing the work of the deceiver.

Make up your minds, novus ordites, you can't have it both ways.  You can't teach that all religions possess the means of sanctification and then try to deny either the SSPXers or sedes all the while speaking of the enjoyment you receive when you see non-Christians practice religions that are a lie.

Who said the priest claimed anything?

This question was to the OP. Of course the priest would normally not have "announced" that. However every Catholic in today's crisis, is required to do their homework to make sure their priest operates lawfully (has canonical mission).

Name some priests who "operate lawfully (have canonical mission)". Please.

    Please stop the games.

My priest is Fr. Andrew H.

    Welcome aboard, Fr. Andrew.

Greetings. I think C.I., draws in people with different levels of understanding. Was there something specifically you were asking for a clarification of?

The Hobsonite, was asked who his priest is. He then gave us a first name and an initial. He did not say he is the priest. Yet after you made the mistake  he was then prepared to answer you as if he is the priest.

He is not Novus Ordite. He is Siri-ite.

He thinks we are all under censure for not following his hidden pope.
