  • Really, they were very instrumental in getting FE transformed into an anti-traditional forum - so now that it's overtly anti-Catholic they are looking for greener pastures.

I say: those whose MO is known should be booted out.

  • I think I know who you are...

All I can say is that I agree.
"Be kind; do not seek the malicious satisfaction of having discovered an additional enemy to the Church... And, above all, be scrupulously truthful. To all, friends and foes alike, give that serious attention which does not misrepresent any opinion, does not distort any statement, does not mutilate any quotation. We need not fear to serve the cause of Christ less efficiently by putting on His spirit". (Vermeersch, 1913).

  • How...elitist!

How about Matt keeps the rules as they are--as he already set them--and when someone goes against those rules, he enforces them the way he said so.

    EDIT:

  • You know, I've never met any fellow Catholics who I'd make friends with in real life except my confirmation sponsor.

On the internet, I've had many fascinating conversations, but I've never made any kind of friendships.  I've met fruit loops who I'd avoid in RL, and I've met ##### who want some sort of exclusive club.

That's what I think of the OP.  An elitist, snobby, exclusivist.  "THIS Catholic forum is only for the RIGHT sort of Catholics.  You are not of our kind!  Go away!"  What an ### ####.

No wonder Catholics can't draw any people in anymore.  Either they're too fruit loopy like the wine-drinking pot-smoking liberal NO Catholics who need a conversion, or they're like Mr. Courage OP, here.

(Granted, there ARE folks on these forums I'd like to meet in person and hang with, but nothing has really happened as far as correspondence, and one only has so much time in life, anyway.)

But yeah.  I think the OP is really unChrist-like and an ass.

    Reveal yourself, coward.

  • I have a two, LH, but Traditional Catholicism certainly has it's share of cranks.  And we are spread around.  You and I for example might be great friends in real life but if you are 500 miles away you might as well be 5000.

I think there is a vicious cycle of being anti-this-world which makes people quick to object to foibles in people, which then gets them a negative reaction, which they interpret as a sign they are good and others evil, which then makes them more kooky, and so it goes.

The Trads who can function in the world and earn a decent living and put up with all the day to day stuff that functioning in the world entails are not such a bad bunch but those people generally speaking are not on the Internet and certainly don't have the time to post to forums.

You work in healthcare so I am sure you have to put up with all sorts of crap at work.  That naturally gives you a tolerance to stuff.  You don't like it, you just don't let it bother you or you would be forever bothered.  You have plenty of day to day stimulus to react to.  Other folks don't.  Getting mad with strangers on the internet is their daily fix and gives them a purpose in life.

You basically have the semi-retired, the internet addicted and the long term unemployed and opt-outs here.  That makes for an explosive cocktail.  The low count posters are generally ignored since reacting to them does not give a poster their fix.

Mind you, Fisheaters has a post-op tranny, so that outweirds this place.

  • Actually, I'm pretty sure that the OP was talking about Suscipe Domine.

How interesting, it looks like the forum software does not allow you to type the name of the forum which goes by the moniker 'SD.'  It's full (latin) name reverts to a letter 's' when typed.

  • The reason people were on FE and approved of it and helped direct it on its runaway course towards farcical cultural marxism in trad drag is that they are liberals who are anti-traditional.  And if they're coming here it's to spread the same anti-traditional poison, whether it's calling trads who stick to the fundamentals "nutters" or "cranks" or defending conciliarism and Vat II.

As for LH, he struggles greatly with following conversations.

Ain't that the truth.  The city pours though our doors, and I liken it to an aquarium carbon filter in a fish tank.

I forget this sometimes.  I used to be amazed that I could be looking at our touching someone with bones sticking out of their legs and poop oozing out of their butt, then take a dinner break 15 minutes later.

But the most difficult aspect, I think, is working in ER on a Friday and Saturday night, when the drunks are carted in on the meat wagon, and they won't hold still or cooperate in any way.

    Aye.  I forget this.

God's let me see a lot in life, I guess.  Thank you, Lord.

Ain't me.  I was just some guy who found the place amidst a lot of searching for stories of Catholic saints and mystical stories.

I thought it was an opportunity to get into the "Catholic loop," which I don't think has really happened for me.

Nah.  I follow them.  It's just that a lot of them bore me.  I often don't have time to read long threads; I got a life.

And those that I do participate in turn out to be dud attempts at participation.  Hell, I honestly think I kill threads once I join them.

Or maybe Tracy just has a perverted concept of charity and the forum posters could not read her mind in advance.

If Matthew suddenly goes on a shooting rampage and does an Anders Breivik it would not mean that the posters on here had all encouraged him.

That is why it is called a "forum".

What part of admiring Camille Paglia don't you understand?

Or getting married to a divorced man without an annulment?

People who are on these forums to promote a liberal, worldly mentality know exactly what they're doing.  It's why they spend time here despite having so many important things to do.

  • CathInfo is a place for Traditional Catholics to meet, discuss, get to know each other, etc.

    It's not an exclusive club.

And it's certainly not a blog, where every member is a fan of Matthew giving his 2 cents worth on everything.

A blog would be all about Matthew and the world from his seat in the Theater of Life.

How many topics are started by "Matthew"?  I dare you to look for yourself. Very, very few.

If this were a blog, every topic would be started by me. Everyone else would just be the "peanut gallery" giving their 2 cents' worth, or their comments on my sage ramblings.
