Can people here share their real motives for defending wearing short sleeves? It’s not about observing the commandments, that’s for sure. Let’s get to the root of it, so that the filth your souls may be purified.

And to the person or people who keep telling us to focus on what is worse such as tightness of clothing etc., if a woman needs to be taught this is wrong, she is a wretched, demonic creature, blind through having indulged in lust. OBVIOUSLY those are issues that EVERYONE knows is a problem. Don’t distract from the principle of covering more of the body than revealing it.

Short sleeves, skirts above ankles and all of these things which traditional Catholics have been conditioned to accept for decades, were literally introduced in order to little by little desensitize men and women, leading them to the point we are at today, where nothing is left to the imagination. The devil has a hold on anyone who refuses God the smallest sacrifice. He may not have you in chains, but he has you by a hair, and this hair can easily lead to an eternal chain by little and little. This is how he ensures souls who do not wish to commit obvious mortal sins. Deliberate venial sin is extremely malicious, and God punishes those who indulge in them by letting them fall into mortal sin. These are the teachings of the saints.

Even little girls in the 1950s were conditioned to become accustomed to exposed skin, with their extremely short dresses exposing their little legs, poor things. No saintly mother ever dressed her little girl in that way.

To defend being able to wear these clothes which were part of ushering in the disaster we have today is utter idiocy, and is disgusting. It all leads to hell eventually, some ways taking longer than others. Do not be deceived.
This reminds of me Paula Haig's essay about fantasy literature where she believed in a blanket condemnation which included the Lord of the Rings. one of her arguments was basically (paraphrased):

'The reason why you won't condemn fantasy literature is because you are attached to it and you love it more than Christ.'

My response is 'I don't care (detachment) if I ever read Dr. Suess or watch the Lord of the Rings again. But it does not follow that I need to condemn these two things.'

The same principle applies here. I may wear long sleeves and pants out in public myself even in the heat myself. It does not follow that I need to condemn the act of rolling up one's sleeves if they are doing a kind of work that leaves lots of sawdust or metal shavings, etc.

By the way, I do believe the modesty standards for women at Mass are pitiful. If it's a mortal sin for me as a man to show up showing off half my legs and three quarters of my arms, then it is most definitely a mortal sin for women to do so also.
Traditional women show an incredible general stupidity in the wintertime when it is below freezing and they come to Mass showing off half their legs.

It is truly amazing how quickly people forget.

Short sleeves were just not a thing among decent people anywhere before the 20th century. People knew this.

Watching traditional Catholics justify this and then come up with all kinds of devious arguments to do that is insane.

Doesn't matter.  The Church has ALLOWED short sleeves, even if it's better to avoid them.  Allowable = not sinful.

Right, and a 3/4 sleeve ends past the elbow. If the temporary concession was for a 1/4 sleeve, which would end mid bicep (too short IMO), then a sleeve extending to the elbows shouldn't even be a question for women's weekday clothing

What a waste of time
It's amazing how clear the Church has been on this topic, allowing short sleeves (even specifiying how long) and you have rabid, puritans saying that the Church is wrong.

The men of the Church allowed the Novus Ordo.

Our measure is what has always been, not what are fashions of men.
