I for one am sick and tired of the ongoing debate about Malachi Martin and would be glad the subject of him was never brought up again. Either one believes he was the greatest and did wonderful work exposing all the evils in the Church or you believe he was a total charlatan. Neither side is ever going to capitulate to the other so what's the point? People are going to believe what they want and most of the time nothing is going to persuade them to change their opinion.
That's not what's going on. Since his death, he has continued to have an increasing influence on Catholics, making them aware of the Crisis in the Church and drawing them into or back into the traditional practice of the faith.
A number of people don't like this. Trads who disagreed or were jealous, liberals who hated his ability to deconstruct their arguements and gunslingers who were out to build a reputation on taking him down.
I do not believe he was "the greatest" just like I don't believe Frs. Feeney or Coughlin were "the greatest" or even Archbishop LeFebvre.
But people want to know about him and the detractors try their best to defame him and those of us who find him worthwhile and beneficial will continue to defend him.
Whatever your motives in wanting him banned as a topic, you are automatically promoting the position of the liberals and the jealous trads and denying the people who might benefit from his works, those good things he offered in the service of the Church.
