Title: Saint Benedict Center - No Priest, No Sacraments
Post by: Änσnymσus on January 20, 2019, 05:55:20 PM
The new and big news about the SBC in Richmond, NH is that the diocese has pulled its priest and forbidden sacraments at the center, in effect putting then under an interdict.

See latest here: https://catholicism.org/press-releases.html (https://catholicism.org/press-releases.html)

In my opinion, this recent controversy is a blessing, as all priests ordained with the new rites have doubtful validity, and those ordained by a bishop consecrated in the new rites are also doubtful.

For many, many years, decades, the SBC had Fr. Michael Jarecki, an old and excellent diocesan priest ordained before the changes who resisted the changes and said only the true mass, and helped them by having regular sacraments at the center.

When, Fr. Jarecki sadly passed away, the center was left in the awful position of having to rely on the diocese.

I write this post with the hope of urging the the SBC to recruit a former SSPX priest to care for the spiritual needs of the hundreds of families that go there many with young children in need of a good priest.  The SSPX trains its priests with excellent training and have unquestionably valid orders.

Now, obviously, the controversy of Baptism of Desire and Blood will be a sticking point, but is it possible to just say, “let’s not fight over this” and agree on EENS, and agree to ask the Pope, when the crisis end to clarify this matter of BoD and BoB for us, and we will abide by his decision, one way or the other.”

There are so many good priests that were either expelled by or left the SSPX in recent years, and I am sure one of them could be found to take over providing the sacraments at the Center.  I would urge the SBC to consider this, and bring in one of these good priest who will provide unquestionably valid sacraments to the people who go there.

Think it over, and forget about dealing with the modernist diocese, who will only give you priests with doubtful orders and most likely are modernists or heretics anyway.

I wonder what would happen if they all showed up at the local church for mass?

Many of the churches in the diocese of Manchester have closed, so they wouldn’t have a local church close to them.  The diocese is dying.
Many also would not go to the NO.  It’s also worth saying that it’s an open secret that many who go to the SBC Centers in Richmond or Still River, MA do not care about the BoB/BoD controversy, they just go for the Tridentine mass.

If the TLM center is near by then what would happen if they were to show up there?

There is no TLM near them.  The closest ones are over an hour drive away.  The SBC is not one group, but is 4 groups, all that operate independently from each other.  Three of them are all next door neighbors in Still River, MA, who are unaffected by this, and the other one is in the boondocks in a very rural area in New Hampshire far from any highways for easy travel.  This is the SBC we are talking about here that lost the sacraments.
Many of the people that go there are working class people and many with large families so having to travel over an hour away is a hardship.

And how many Traditional Catholics would favor such an "interdict" against "Feeneyites"?  Probably many, since many, especially sedevacantist, priests already refuse them the Sacraments.  This is a sign of how low things have sunken.  John XXIII had the works of Father Feeney studied, and the verdict was that they contained no theological error, while Paul VI reconciled Father Feeney without his having to abjure any "error".

In this case according to both Bishop Williamson and Fr Pfeiffer it would be ok for them to go to the Novus Ordo. I wonder what would happen if they showed up at the nearest parish for mass.
Personally, I don’t think the diocese would care if they went to the few Novus Ordo churches left in the area.  The attendance at these parishes is way down, so they might like some people actually coming there.
Maybe that’s what the diocese wants, to get these people back under their control, so they can learn all about ecuмenism and interfaith prayers with the Protties and Orthodox, and forget about EENS.

Maybe they could help their fellow Catholics learn a greater appreciation for traditional Catholic prayer, Protestants and Orthodox welcome to learn also.

Ironically, Novus Ordo would welcome Feeneyites much more than CMRI and other pseudo - traditional groups.

This could be the beginning of an agitation for more of the TLM.

Most East Coast novus ordo are Catholics in name only.  Most are pro choice and are in favor of mortal sin.

And with novus ordo, it is about real estate.
They might be eyeing the property in New Hampshire.

Catholics don’t pray with schismatics and heretics.  The idea of interfaith is not Catholic.  Read this:  http://www.papalencyclicals.net/pius11/p11morta.htm (http://www.papalencyclicals.net/pius11/p11morta.htm)

They couldn’t get it, they have no legal claim to it.  Besides, the Richmond property is in an Econ I’m ally depressed area of NH, so it’s not very valuable in terms of real estate.
