I am soon to be confirmed, and would like to know of good pre VII material to study, and also a general explanation of it, keeping always in mind I converted only a few years ago from no religious activity in my adult years, and having been raised in a Protestant religion (some sort of baptist-not sure which).

Cruiser, I would highly recommend that you participate in the Novena. It is a study in itself and great preparation for Pentecost and for the Sacrament.

First, I post this here as this is a recognize/resist site, and recognize that the theological position of sede vacante is largely unpopular. I hold to sede vacante.

Hi, a lot of us are sede of some sort of stripe here. I can recommend you a few good books that are pre VII:

1)  I attached Holy Communion, by +Gibergues (if you need it in text to speech and like to listen to books at work or in the car I can do that as well). Reading this book helps me not only with my spiritual and sacramental communions but with my general fervor as well.  Great book for quick meditations, you can pick it up and put it down easily.

2) Faith by +Gibergues (If you need it in audio form LMK too). Follows a good theme of strengthening faith for your confirmation :). He gave these talks and sermons at retreats.

Other than this make sure to do the Novena, it has the prayers that are in the Angelus Press Confirmation prep book on pg. 21 :) Are you to be confirmed on June 3rd?

God willing, Confirmation is scheduled for June 19, by Bishop McGuire (recently consecrated). 
And a lovely day that will be-receiving the sacrament of Confirmation, my youngest daughter’s birthday, and Father’s Day all rolled into one.
