  • Hello I am looking for some recommendations for some traditional Catholic children's books for my nieces and nephew. They are aged 2f, 5.5f, 7.5m, 11.5f

These will be Christmas presents. They do not have to be Christmas related books. Thanks for any recommendations.

    2 Corinthians 4:3-4

And if our gospel be also hid, it is hid to them that are lost, In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of unbelievers, that the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God, should not shine unto them.

  • I really enjoyed the books written by Mary Fabyan Windeatte.  They are mostly geared towards children but as an adult I really like them.  Highly recommend.

  • A Child's Rule of Life

    By Robert Hugh Benson.
Big children and small will be inspired by the rhymes and the profuse use of line drawings, to make it both simple and smart, throughout the book. The child is invited to “learn by heart” the whole Rule, not only a part. The beautiful line drawings follow a brother and sister throughout their day, when they awake, go to Church, eat their meals, learn their lessons, and have family time. The simple yet charming rhymes will teach a child how to act in Church, what to do when tempted, what to do when troubled, and much more. A real treasure for young and old!
    28 page book.

  • The 11.5 year old might like "The Hidden Treasure of Glaston". I got it off the Seton Homeschooling website. You could probably find other good books on there.

  • there is a set of" Stories for Catholic boys and girls, 4 volume? by Newman Press.  They are so sweet with silhouette pictures done by a famous nun. the set in hard back is best. The cost will be over $100. You should be able to get a book or so at a time.  But the stories in there are so sweet.

We have been reading a bunch of these and really enjoy them. My favorite so far is St. Hyacinth.

  • I find that there's a bit gap between books for younger children (<10 years old) and books for adults ... just not much out there for kids between 10-15 or so.

On this page you will find quite a range of books for the 10-15 range. The bookshop is in Australia, but if you find any of interest you could do a search for same in your own country.

Oo!!!  Thank you for sharing this!  I will have to keep it in mind for when our boys get a little bit older. 🥰

    THIS ^^^

I remember these being some of my favorites as a child!  I couldn't get enough of them!  I have the whole 20 set from when it went on sale one year thanks to my godmother.  I am keeping it safe for when our boys get older.

I know many adults who still enjoy them.  They are some of the more captivating and well written little saint's books.

I remember especially liking Saint Hyacinth and Saint Elizabeth.
