  • Hi,

I am looking for advice in purchasing a home for the first time. Any book / article recommendation is appreciated.

Location is the area of Spokane, WA - Coure D' Alene, ID.

My plan is to fix the house, rent it out, and posibbly move there in the future

    Thanks!

  • If you plan on having a family or already have one, Idaho is much more family friendly.

you should take a quick look on Zillow for comparisons. Just know that there are ups and downs to each state. WA has a bigger social service network and restrictions on homeschooling. Also, I think you must still provide vaccination records whatever route you take.

Idaho has different regulations about what you can and cannot do with your property and it's natural resources.

A border city will give you the best of both worlds, depending on your needs.

  • oh my.  we moved from the pacific coast due to Fukushima contamination.
the pacific nw got hit worse than californa, due to the jet stream.  It still continues and now this:

With a young growing family, I'd choose Idaho - at least it's inland a bit.
    God bless you very much!
