My husband and I are currently expecting our first child. We're also fairly new to tradition, so I still need help sorting through everything.
The last few weeks, I have been having horrible dizzy spells during the second half of Mass while kneeling. A few times I sat for a bit after Communion and that seemed to relieve it enough to kneel again as usual after about 5 minutes, but I was worried that I was being too indulgent, so I tried toughing it out today and almost lost consciousness. My face drained of all color and I had horrible sweating, chills, and buzzing in my ears. I took about 20 minutes to recover enough to get out of the pew and even then my husband had to support me out.
I am going to talk to my doctor about it tomorrow about preventing this sort of thing, but what is the general consensus on what to do in this sort of situation?
My husband recommended sitting in the cry room where it is cooler and less populated. We live in the desert, so even with the cooler on it gets pretty hot inside the chapel.
Thanks in advance for your input.
