By the way, there is no chance this thread could constitute detraction. Just for starters, no "person" has even been named! The first point of detraction is the good name of another being damaged, by some truth being spread needlessly (for example, a personal sin that was committed).

This couldn't be further from that. Not only is no person named, but it's completely a "public good" issue.

Go read up on Detraction and other sins of the tongue by the Cure of Ars. Then come back and critique this thread.

Why do all on CI need to know these things?  I don’t see any reason, for example, why I need this information about an SSPX chapel in N.Carolina.

I'd wager that MANY MORE people need to know these things.
How many Trads are still attending the SSPX for example? How many are aware of the actual state of things, present-day, in the SSPX? They have compromised and fallen, and people need to know this. We're talking about lifeboats having sprung a leak. I'd call that important information!

It sounds like the guys in that Holy Name Society aren't entirely right in the head!

Maybe people local to the Charlotte area could attend the next Holy Name Society meeting and gather some intel, and perhaps even voice some of these concerns?

The next meeting is Saturday, February 7 at 6:00 PM, after the 5:00 PM Low Mass. They provide a meal, and I hear the cigars afterwards are pretty good.

It takes basic reason and logic to see how accepting an “Apostolic Blessing” from someone like Leo. Leo is an open heretic who actively drags the image of Catholicism through the mud with his ecuмenical inter-Faith meetings, appointment or pro-sodomite Bishops, and “blessing” of ice blocks at climate change events. Not to mention his public adherence to and promotion of synodality and Vatican II, which is a clearly heretical council which teaches the opposite several Catholic dogmas. Anyone who claims to be on the side of Tradition who genuinely thinks that Leo is Catholic, and accepts an “Apostolic Blessing” from him, is not using their facultative reasoning, and instead letting their emotions and desire to promote their big New St. Anthony Project get the best of them. It doesn’t matter if he’s the Pope here or not, he’s an open heretic who doesn’t practice True Catholicism. Accepting any sort of blessing or endorsement from Leo in order to promote their fanciful does that the SSPX is “in full communion with Rome” is a CLEAR compromise with the Tradition, and with the Catholic Faith. I go to St. Anthony, I like the community there. I think we could be a good group of True Traditionalists. But if you don’t want to actually stand up and fight for True Tradition, rejecting the Modernists to their face, then you don’t love the Catholic Faith, or Tradition. You just like the Latin Mass.
