He had just been to confession a few days before, and a priest was dispatched to give Last Rites at the site of the accident. His body was still warm.
I can understand the trauma of the family as they did not have a chance to say good-bye.
We sin hourly in thought, word, and/or deed.
There is still probably a bit of uncertainty.
Unlike my dad, my mom died unattended at a nursing home. She did not want to die.
So, yes, there is a bit of uncertainty. No priest had attended her the month before her death.
In addition, she was given morphine against her will by hospice nurses, thus she was too drugged to think straight.
We are still saddened at her death.
