Usually, but not in all cases, men poking other men has homoerotic tendencies.

Darn right. What's more, whenever I see a man scratch his chin in public, I know I'm in the presence of a fairy. And wallflower's right: breathing is also a dead giveaway.

  • For some reason, I don't see John Wayne, Clint Eastwood and Sylvester Stallone going around poking other men with their fingers. My friends and I provoked each other (in a friendly way) by punching each other, getting each other in head locks or shooting rubber bands at each other. We don't go around poking other men like Suzie Qs.
Blessed be the Lord my God, who teacheth my hands to fight, and my fingers to war. ~ Psalms 143:1 (Douay-Rheims)

Perhaps we should introduce the poking man to the poking woman!  Are both single?

I find it really effeminate when men breathe. It's so disconcerting, I can't help wondering if they are gαy. I keep my children away from them just in case!

The point you're trying to make is not even logical, albeit, it's sarcasm, but there is no comparison between the autonomic nervous system (breathing) and the act of poking with a finger against another person. The latter requiring a conscious and willful act.

Awww! Come on, anon. Lighten up! Did the cat get your sense of humour?

I think you just made that up.

If not, show us some docuмents that back up you claim.

Otherwise I will poke you in the eye, and see how homoerotic you think that is.

And lets not even get into what you think about males winking at other males.

maybe he was acknowledging your presence without havein to interupt what he ws saying to the other person.

That's a good point, but I think a simple pat on the shoulder, back or arm would be much more appropriate and less potentially scandalous.

Good points from everyone else, too.

I hate people poking me. I think it is often just childish, bad manners, but well intentioned. I had a boss at work that did it to people and it appeared he just thought he was being friendly as he walked by and letting people know he was acknowledging them. Then another guy started doing it in the same manner. It was very annoying.

So you would prefer that his face turn blue and he suffocate in front of you rather than that he breath?

  • Poche, I think Wallflower was just poking fun at the original poked person who thought poking might be a sign that the poker might have disordered sɛҳuąƖ attractions. In other words she was just being facetious.

Yes I am just poking fun!

While poking might seem rude it is not "gαy". This seems to be a theme this week. Men will soon be paralyzed for fear of whether this or that gesture is perceived as homoerotic.

I think it might depend on the culture.
