And just to clarify one thing, the topic of discussion that I introduced is relapse, and gravely offending God, and not wanting to burn in hell forever. I didn't ask for the dirty details of anyones life, and I don't intend to elaborate on what I already posted.

Just sit still and relax for a little while.

Be present to God. Remember His presence.

We glorify God when we acknowledge our misery and sinfulness and look to His mercy with confidence. Try to muster that confidence. It's already clear that you're sorry for your sin. Hold onto that, too.

Rest in that awhile. Then make an act of contrition. Try to make it an act of perfect contrition, meaning that you are sorry because you've offended God, not just that you are afraid of being punished.

Then resolve to go to confession at your earliest opportunity and don't worry. Confidence in His mercy. Don't forget that.

Pray to Our Lady for help to keep that resolution. Keep it simple. Stay calm.

Don't be so shocked that you fell. The only catastrophe would be remaining down, sunk in despair. Just get up and keep going.

please forgive this crazy post.

I became a Catholic this year, and it is the most wonderful thing that has ever happened to me.

Before I became a Catholic I was a drug addict, a liar and a thief. I was addicted to opiates, cocaine, and pornography. I would do anything to please myself, and our Lord in his infinite and unfathomable mercy called me to be a part of his Church.

This morning I was on my way to the church to pray the Rosary. The devil put impure thoughts in my mind and I acted on them. It is 2:00 where I live and by noon I was drunk, looking at pornography, and impure with myself several times.

I want to do Gods will. This is the first time that this has happened. I have completely relapsed today into my former way of life.

Please, anything you might have to say about these things. Anything. I want to be a good Catholic, and am going to confession tomorrow. Anything you might have, any encouragement or insight from your own life. I cannot go to confession right now because I am still drunk and only about 15 minutes ago snapped out of my stupidity.

I am terrified.

1. You acted based on how you felt in the moment. Cultivated by a habit of unrestrained giving in to pleasures; even if they were lawful at the time. Repeated giving in to even licit pleasures will induce spiritual imperfections in you; weakening your willpower. Thus unmortified licit pleasures, over time, give a powerful license to tempations to rule over your willpower.

2. Unfortunately, you (and I) live in a world today where everybody preaches "have it your way." A subtle, but all to real fallout of the frank Modernism that affects us all.

3. A place to start (creatively) would be in thinking in gradients. For example, the type of music you listen to (even if lawful); can be a hidden source of unrestrained pleasure that you do daily. A daily routine of 'giving in' to pleasures can easily be a source that is training your willpower to give in to your sudden surge of illicit "impulses"...over-riding your willpower. In particular, Music can stir the passions and emotions inducing over-whelming carnal desires.

4. Also consider, that it was a grace for you to desire to pray the Rosary and go to Mass. In your previous state you described above, sounds like you are in a prison without walls. Naturally, Satan is going to be coming at you from left field to prevent you from being free. So I would consider prayer and mental discipline in forming a strategy to fight back.

5. Think to what you can mortify (giving up licit objects) in your daily routine; -- think small steps; but legitimate ones. It will begin the road to training your willpower to be stronger when illicit temptations come their way. Increase your prayer life in all things and in particular, to strengthen your willpower and to break Satanic influences.

7. If there is a priest/ Spiritual Director in your area; seek him out. Here to, pray for this grace. As always, be ready for a counter-attack from Satan to get you to loose your footing (once you start making strides)...don't make this a big deal (it's his role).

I would also advise you to never give up hope in God, realize His visitation (in Grace) by making the most of your opportunities and avoid presumption at all costs by not putting off to tomorrow what you can do today (to get better and to be free). God Bless you! I truly wish you the best; you have my sympathy.  

Get yourself to a place where you CANNOT engage in the sins you mentioned.  Stay in  a public place where it will be impossible to do dope, drink, look at porn, or masturbate.  Is there a Church open all night that you can get to?  Place yourself before the Blessed Sacrament.  If not, a store open 24 hours?  Even in front of a police station!  A crowded public street?  NOT A PUB, BAR, DANCE HALL!  Can you stay with anyone who will watch and pray with you?  If you must be alone, then plan an activity and do it!  Clean out the garage, make a craft, bake pies, make a huge salad by hand.  No food processors allowed.  Of course, pray the Rosary while doing these things.  Do not dwell on your sin.  As often as Satan tells you to panic, repeat Acts of Faith, Hope, Charity, Contrition.  Call on the Blessed Mother, St. Joseph, St. Michael, St. Catherine, your Guardian Angel.  Jesus Wills that you should be saved, not lost.  He is more powerful than Satan.  Remember both Judas and Peter betrayed Our Lord, but only Peter repented and is called St. Peter.  Judas despaired and went to Hell.  Our Lord is eager to hear your confession in the person of the priest and to cleanse and restore you.  Look up I John 1:9.  Mary is  a true Mother.  When her child runs to her bloodied and bruised as a result of disobedience, she first compassionates him and cleans and dresses his wounds.  Accept willingly the penance you are given.  Ask the priest for advice about how to prevent another relapse.  Maybe you can set up some sort of daily accountability to another regarding these specific sins.  Can your Godfather or Confirmation sponsor help you?  (It has to be a male due to the nature of what tempts you.)  Set up a daily  life structure to keep yourself as far as possible from the sins that tempt you.  I'll pray for you in my Rosary this evening.  Never give up, not even if you again fall.  Just imitate Christ Who kept on picking up His Cross on the way to Calvary.

Saying an act of contrition doesn't forgive mortal sins unless you have the grace of perfect contrition. So if your contrition is not perfect, if you die you will go to hell.

If he is sincerely sorry for his sins and intends the earliest possible Confession he will not go to Hell. Stop your stupid "theological" nit-picking.
