  • Thank you, Anon, for this info.  Some I already knew & some I didn't. Yes, I think all this must be addressed but I didn't want to clutter up the discussion with Perez's problems.  I wanted to concentrate on the phony nun who has a long phony history. I have no problem with her being a simple hermit.  I do have a problem with her calling herself a Carmelite when clearly she isn't.  A non-Carmelite can not welcome a person into the Carmelites.  It's ridiculous & does a disservice to true Carmelites. You just can't (or you shouldn't) make things up as you go along to suit your purpose.  That's evil & I really have a problem when people do it for 'religious' reasons.  To get back to Perez - I didn't know that he found out about him not really being a Msgr.  I heard that he had met a Bishop at a Fatima Conference in India who made him a Msgr. If you can fill me in on "the rest of the story" I'd be very interested.  I strongly believe that Catholics need to know these things to protect ourselves from false prophets - so to speak.  We live in dangerous times & they seem to be getting worse.   Thanks again

  • I believe she now calls herself a "hermit."
Just to clear the air!  I am most emphatically not this woman who is or calls herself a Carmelite nun or a hermit.  I received an email today from a friend’s daughter who reads CI, and wanted to know if this wasn’t her mother’s friend.  The answer is NO.  I don’t know who any of the people referred to, Fr. Perez?  Don’t know him or anything about him or his chapel, or members of his chapel.  I don’t know anyone by the surname Wiest or Croisette.
🤫I HATE this sort of, “He said, she said” gossip.  Please leave me out.  I don’t want to know about it.  I have enough problems of my own to keep me occupied.

  • Sorry for what happened to you, Seraphina, but this isn't gossip.  Sadly, it's the truth & people have to be warned against 'false prophets'.

  • Sounds to me like the nun is a nun.

Also sounds to me like Fr. Perez needs help.

  • What on earth tells you that that woman is a nun?!  Just because she says so?  Then call me Fr. Jake.   If you only knew what I know about her.  How long have you known her? I'm guessing not very long.  I WANT PROOF that she's a member of a legit Order.  Is that too much to ask in this day & age?  WAKE UP

Just out of curiosity what, in the present situation, constitutes a "legit order"?

  • I never said I give her money, but now I think I must to help her against people like you.
You are right.  I will, too.

At first, Father Perez believed he was dealing with the Knights of Malta. See the website https://osjflorida.org/

After a few years of wearing the impressive red trimmed cape and hat, he learned that this is NOT the genuine Knight of Malta as they falsely claim on their website. They seek donation$ under that pretense, but they are just a group of independents with a money-making startup in Florida. Father Perez found out that for money they would make anyone a Monsignor. An honorable response might have been to tell the truth from the pulpit. An alternative honorable response might have been to slowly stop wearing the red and let the Msgr. title slowly fade away. I'm pretty sure he plans to get around to that someday, after the problems with pedophile Colletti and fake priest Michael Wiest go away.

    Florida Commander’s Welcome

The Florida Commandery, Americas Priory, of the ancient and royal order of chivalry, the Order of St. John of Jerusalem, Knights Hospitaller (Malta) is a vibrant community of fellowship and high purpose, dedicated to serving the sick and the poor.  We welcome your interest in our unique organization and invite you to learn more about us.
Established in 1048 AD by the Blessed Gerard, the Order began as a hospice for pilgrims and the local population and served people of all faiths.  The best intelligence places the original hospital near the present-day Church of the Holy Sepulcher in Jerusalem.  The Order of St. John remains among the oldest chivalric and religious organizations in the world.

Thank God Fr. Perez realized the error.

  • Young Mr. Croisette was "ordained" by Pfeiffer (who may not be a Bishop). He said his first Mass (secretly) on a Saturday and now, with the intervention of Michael Weist (who may or may not be a priest) he was invited to say the 7 p.m. mass on Tuesday.
    Based on this about Wiest

I no longer wonder how Croisette was able to say mass at olhc at Wiest's intervention.

  • Yes, nothing wrong with warning people, but something is wrong with publishing rash judgments on a public forum (not CI, Facebook!).  I don’t use Facebook, never have, never will.  I conclude that the persons being warned of on this thread reside in Florida.  Fortunately, I’m nowhere near Florida, haven’t been there since 1973!

I will say this. If a priest, chapel, religious order, society, fraternity seems “off,” it probably is!  Take the time and space to objectively evaluate before you jump in.
