  • It is a pet peeve of mine when people complain about receiving down-thumbs.  Do you really think an annoying complaint, that does nothing but derail the thread, is going to make someone change his or her mind?

From now on, I automatically down-thumb any post that complains about down-thumbs.

I just gave you a thumbs up, even though it's a pet peeve of mine when people post just to say they've given thumbs up.

The feature was installed in order to cut down the  :applause: posts.

Also, the feature was installed to cut down on the posts that have nothing to contribute to a topic other than "You're stupid" or "I don't like this." or....

I agree with this, except in instances where the down-thumbed has said nothing obviously objectionable, and simply wants the down-thumber to openly address the post, rather than hit-and-run down-thumbing.

But if we're strictly talking about those who are solicitous about their "reputation," then I agree wholeheartedly. If you'd signed your name to the OP, I'd have up-thumbed it.

  • Is it just me or do the thumbs up and down buttons not work anymore? This forum is quite unappealing if I cannot express my opinion on the posts. Does the function depend on your own ratio? I am so confused!

  • I remember that post! :laugh1:
For what doth it profit a man, if he gain the whole world, and suffer the loss of his own soul? Or what exchange shall a man give for his soul?

  • Wow.  This was only a couple of weeks after I joined.

  • A pet peeve of mine is when people ask why people post things anonymously, and also when they call anonymous posters cowards.

I was just lurking at the time and joined under my old screen name not too long after, but I remember reading it.
