    That is almost certainly not the case.

    I think it's because the MSM made a big stink about pedophile coverups in recent times and that before then it didn't make the news much, but this has certainly been a problem for a long time.

    Most of the abuse pre vatican 2 was heterosɛҳuąƖ --- my knowledge is from the pennsylvania report a few years ago.

    Theo McCarrick is the famous example and for Ireland Brendan Smyth O. Praem who had a comfy sex offender shuffle before and after the Council throughout Ireland and including Rhode Island and Dakota in the US. Alongside paedophilia, who are almost always homos (a few like Smyth excepted, I think, I don't want to read up again on his crimes), there is also a tendency to sɛҳuąƖly assault or harass seminarians, like with McCarrick. Some just special in young men like Michéal Ledwith was nothing less than President of Maynooth whose whistleblower saw his career destroyed. He's somewhere in the US in a mobile home making new age stuff. There seems to have arisen a culture of immense corruption in seminaries. I recall reading a student periodical for St Michael's seminary and one of the sketches in its funnies seems to around of idea of importuning homeless youths for sodomy. Sean Fortune was one predictable result. He was probably bad to the bone already, but there seems to have been a toleration of weirdos to keep the numbers up, alongside his perversity was a great energy and ability to keep several plates spinning at a time, or perhaps seminary staff saw someone bad like them.
