  • I don't understand the parable of the ten virgins.

It almost implies Christ returns for a period of time and they were freaking out and not prepared, like they missed the ark, I cant find a catholic commentary of this?

  • Men are not bound, or able to read hearts; but when they see that someone is a heretic by his external works, they judge him to be a heretic pure and simple ... Jerome points this out. (St. Robert Bellarmine)

You've never picked up a Douay Rheims Bible or Lapide's commentary? https://www.ecatholic2000.com/lapide/untitled-38.shtml#_Toc385608981

  • There is a distinct possibility that the Triumph of the Immaculate Heart is referenced here, itself a foreshadowing of the Eternal Jerusalem. The only refuge from the minor judgement and chastisement to come will be the Catholic Church and in this way it is a microcosm of the final persecution and the Final Judgement.

I like it principally for its symmetry: Our Lord's public ministry began with a wedding feast at the behest of His Blessed Virgin Mother, so should it be capped in the same fashion. If there will be a great Restoration, how better to liken it to a marriage feast on Earth? This time it is Our Lady herself who provides the best wine of her joy and gratitude and everything she had stored up in her Immaculate Heart from the time He was born: to truly see Him crowned as the King of Kings to Whom all nations bow the knee at last but before the very end.

    Fortuna finem habet.

What is the "minor judgement and chastisement to come"? Is that public Church teaching?

The writing is on the wall already. It will be the final "Great Restoration", the seventh trumpet, the fullness of the reign of our Lord.

If you believe in the Triumph, it is implied that this is not the final persecution that the Antichrist will come after this period with the Final Judgement to follow. It is not public or formal or dogmatic, but then it makes sense it wouldn't be in order to test us.

I wholeheartedly agree, though we can't make people believe it if they have their hearts set against it. Commentaries and opinions are we have to go one for the most part when it comes to the nuances of the Apocalypse.

I thought He was 32 when He was crucified?
