    • Why is a gαy subculture being tolerated within some traditionalist circles? Groups like gαy Traditionalist Catholic and Liturgy Queens are for active ɧoɱosɛҳųαƖs, who favor the pomp and pageantry of the Traditional Latin Mass but choose to live a ɧoɱosɛҳųαƖ lifestyle.
    One concerned Catholic recently shared his concerns about this grave problem with Church Militant:

    This is a very common problem in the choir loft. I'm a professional music director and I can say confidently that music at many TLMs is directed by gαys. In most cases the laity are completely unaware and praise their highly qualified and capable musicians, but the clergy are absolutely aware in every case I personally know of. It's absolutely scandalous. ... Furthermore, to show how widespread this issue is, it even extends into the annual CMAA Sacred Music Colloquium. One individual in particular is an extremely well-known, flamboyant, active, practicing ɧoɱosɛҳųαƖ who is frequently described by others at the colloquium as "absolutely oozing gαyness." His lifestyle and flawed beliefs are known to all involved. Yet he is invited to play, conduct, sing and teach at this colloquium regularly. Others at the colloquium just shrug it off because he is such a talented and respected musician who leads the music program at one of the nation's largest Episcopal parishes.

    • The title of this thread does not make sense.  Merely being attracted to the beauty of the Tridentine Mass does not make a person a trad.  One must accept the traditional teaching of the Church and try to follow it.

    A person does not even need to be Catholic to recognize that the TLM is beautiful and important.  This reminds me of the history of the "Agatha Christie indult":

    • Reminds me of Samuel Barber.  Responsible for some of the most beautiful choral music you could imagine, but a total queer.

    I suppose one can't really be all that surprised, though.  The only reason (I suspect) that you can't go back in time and find pockets of proud sodomites in Churches is that they all stayed in the closet because the social sphere around them wouldn't tolerate them.  Pope St. Pius V decreed sodomite clergy should be executed.  Your life would be over (literally or figuratively) if you unapologetically "came out."  That's a strong incentive to keep things quiet.

    Point being that "Catholic sodomites" aren't a new phenomenon, what's new is them actually being identifiable and able to advertise themselves without consequences.

    • What "traditionalist circles" are tolerating these people?

    One link went to a picture and the other requires one to be on Facebook.  They may be being somewhat public, but I can't see that actual traditionalist groups tolerating them.

    • Someone else already said it -- attending the Traditional Latin Mass, or even singing at it, doesn't make you a "trad".

    For one thing, these capable musicians and emphasis on "smells & bells" is 99% found in the Indult. After all, that's all they have! They basically just "prefer the Latin Mass" they don't believe in a Church Crisis per se -- certainly no crisis of authority, etc. otherwise they wouldn't be buddy-buddy and on good terms with the infidels in Rome! They'd be adversarial towards the new religion and the Conciliar Church, like +Lefebvre was.

    But they're not. For them, it's only about the Mass, not the Faith. No wonder they fall into all kinds of errors like tolerating queers.
