• My faith is being severely tested. Am on verge of eviction, must pay for clean out of 23 years in same place, will lose job if can't keep up peak performance, marginal healthave both physical and emotional, age 60ish, female, no friends since kicked out of chapel in 2014, no money...quite alone.  Too upset to pray, I try, but can't concentrate.  Too embarrassed to post name.

• Pray with me, "Dear Blessed Mother, please offer up the Holy Face of Jesus, His Sacred Head, and all His Holy Wounds to the Eternal Father, for the grace I need to be calm, to hear the inspiration of grace, and to know what to do in this crisis.  You are my mother and I trust you to arrange all situations that so as to be in accordance with God's Will for me."

There are people on this board praying for you, I will light a candle at Our Lady's altar tomorrow for you, and many will remember you at Holy Mass and Communion.  Things won't look so bad - you will get strong, and what to do (or not do) will become clear.  Events may change.  Have faith.  Don't panic.  Hold on.  "Make not haste in the time of clouds."  Do nothing until you are sure it is what God has shown you to do.  In the practical order, some food, a good night's sleep if you can manage it, will help.  If there is someone you know from your old chapel to whom you feel you can reach out, then do so if you feel it can be managed.  You will have morale support in this perhaps, if nothing else.  And please, let us know how you do going forward.  Even get back tomorrow.  It is the Epiphany - may Our Lord grant you holy enlightenment and peace!

• Praying for you. You are having a terrible time. If you can't manage more lengthy prayers, perhaps when you feel overwhelmed with anxiety say short ejaculations. Jesus, Mercy. Cling to our Lady. She knows your needs.

Can you get on medicaid?

• I will greatly recommend to pray the Litany of Saint Dymphna:

http://www.catholictradition.org/Litanies/litany60.htm

If anyone says that true and natural water is not necessary for baptism and thus twists into some metaphor the words of our Lord Jesus Christ" Unless a man be born again of water and the Holy Spirit" (Jn 3:5) let him be anathema.

Thank you.  Am trying.  No, not yet actually homeless or unemployed.  If it comes to this, it then takes many months to apply, be approved.

• I am on Day 3 of the Novena to St Dymphna, so now you are in, as advised by Cantarella.

If you can't think to pray, Just say the Holy Name of Jesus. He will hear.
Help of Christians, guard our land from assault or inward stain,
Let it be what God has planned, His new Eden where You reign.

Take heart and know you are in our prayers.

On the subject of finding it hard to pray: remember that praying is more then reciting formulas and words, it is a conversation. You can speak in your own simple words, telling the Father your troubles, telling His Son our Lord and Saviour your needs of strength, telling the Holy Ghost, The Paraclete your need of His consolations and Light and Directions. Ask Mother Mary to pray for you and all that you need. And always remember to pray for happiness, temporal and spiritual. Many think it odd to pray for happiness rather then just strength to deal with their problems, but they could not be further from the Truth. God wants us to ask him for things all the time, He loves to be called Father; what could move a fathers heart more then hearing his children asking him for happiess? What else does a good Father ultimately want for his little ones? Happiness!
Many people say "For the Honor and Glory of God!" but, what they should say is "For the Love, Glory and Honor of God". - Fr. Paul of Moll

In case you didn't know this stuff already:
You should be able to get "rated" immediately, by your County Hospital, if you lose your job/your income falls low enough.  Sometimes that process can take a little persistence, but the benefit should be there.  I think most counties are at least 200% of the poverty level (12k/year for a single woman) and I think some are 300%.  I think they'll cover up to 100% of everything, including most meds and even transportation to appointments.  If you end up on Medicaid, you can continue with the county or go wherever you want.
I have no idea about housing though.  You might want to contact Catholic Charities.  I assume you can get some kind of disability/simply retire if you have to.  They say most workers are disabled by their mid fifties.

• The Infant of Prague is a powerful devotion, and most wonderful in this Christmas and Epiphany season.

Efficacious prayer to the Holy Child Jesus
O Child Jesus, I have recourse to Thee by Thy Holy Mother; I implore Thee to assist me in this necessity, for I firmly believe that Thy Divinity can assist me. I confidently hope to obtain Thy holy grace. I love Thee with my whole heart and my whole soul. I am heartily sorry for my sins, and I entreat Thee, O good Jesus, to give me strength to overcome them.
I firmly resolve never to offend Thee again and to suffer everything rather than displease Thee. Henceforth, I wish to serve Thee faithfully. For love of Thee, O divine Child, I will love my neighbor as myself. O Jesus, omnipotent Child, I entreat Thee again to come to my assistance in this necessity. (Here mention the necessity.) Grant me the grace of possessing Thee eternally with Mary and Joseph, and of adoring Thee with Thy Holy Angels and Saints. Amen.

Novena Prayer

O Jesus, Who has said, "Ask and you shall receive, seek and you shall find, knock and it shall be opened," through the intercession of Mary, Your Most Holy Mother, I knock, I seek, I ask that my prrayer be granted. (Make your request)

O Jesus, Who has said, "All that you ask of the Father in My Name, He will grant you," through the intercession of Mary Thy Most Holy Mother, I humbly and urgently ask Thy Father in Thy name that my prayer will be granted. (Make your request)

O Jesus, Who has said, "Heaven and earth shall pass away but My word shall not pass away," through the intercession of Mary Thy Most Holy Mother, I feel confident that my prayer will be granted. (Make your request)

Prayer

O Divine Child of Prague, and still the great omnipotent God, I implore through Thy most Holy Mother's most powerful intercession and through the boundless mercy of Thy omnipotence as God, for a favorable answer to the intention I so earnestly ask for in this Novena.

O Divine Child of Prague, hear my prayer and grant my petition. (say three times)
Add Our Father, Hail Mary and Glory be. (said once)

Prayer of Thanksgiving

I prostrate myself before Thy holy image, O most gracious Infant Jesus, to offer my most fervent thanks for the blessings Thou hast bestowed on me.
I shall incessantly praise Thy ineffable mercy and confess that Thou alone are my God, my helper, and my protector. Henceforth my entire confidence shall
be placed in Thee! Everywhere I will proclaim aloud Thy mercy and generosity, so that Thy great love and the great deeds which Thou perform through this
miraculous image may be acknowledged by all. May devotion to Thy holy infancy increase more and more in the hearts of all Christians, and may all who
experience Thy assistance persevere with me in showing unceasing gratitude to Thy most holy infancy, to which be praise and glory forever.
Amen.
Please disregard everything I have said; I have tended to speak before fact checking.
