Oh my goodness.   You guys are so literal.  Athletics in today's current society is a pass time.  It is defined as recreation.  Just like painting, dancing, hiking, etc.

I get it men you get to have all the fun because you didn't commit the first sin in the Garden of Eden.

I bet you are the same men who think the marital act should be done with absolutely no pleasure.  Except by biology the man gets pleasure or the act doesn't happen.  So you puritan men enjoy being alone or married and miserable. :trollface:

(Normally I would not post this because of human respect, but I have been told not worry about that anymore)

Nothing wrong with Athletics or dancing or any activity.  You just have to do such activities with modesty, and not like the rest of the world, which dresses like whores and pagans every time they go outside.  Some activities are not modest, even if proper clothing is worn, because they require actions which are immodest (i.e. ballet).

You mistakenly assume that men are the only ones writing anything and everything that contradicts you. As for your last post here, now you're scraping the bottom of the barrel. If someone (a priest? your husband? whatever...) really did tell you not to worry about human respect, you should double check that he intended his advice to be condoning your writing what you just did. Add humility and prudence to the list to work on.

I don't mistakenly assume anything.  I address my posts to the gender that has revealed themselves on the thread.  If you are a woman and object then show yourself.  Either publicly or privately.  I am under proper spiritual and temporal instruction.  I am not responsible for others taking words in the wrong way or having them believe others misinterpretations about me.

Maybe you should articulate exactly what you think I have said that is not Catholic.  Instead of just throwing out emotion and personal attacks.  I did know such think to you because I don't know who you are.

Last time I checked stoicism was not a Catholic principle.
