Our country is not so great in a lot of ways. Some groups of people are still treated poorly and looked down upon. People are not treated as though they are equal, certainly not treated as though they are created in God's image. The rich are treated well, the poor are not. And then we wonder why many of them stay poor? Some of the poor just want to run away from society altogether. I know people who chose homelessness over--involvement in society. I know this one man (used to know him) with a very high IQ, very well educated, but self-educated mostly, didn't go to college. He lived in a van, probably still does (unfortunately i lost track of him, something I deeply regret). He had a lot of interesting things to say about society. He was a good worker and a good person for the most part, just not a Christian, to speak of, so that's why the relationship did not prosper----
