  • You can tell how ignorant of the Bible people are who adhere to this once saved always saved nonsense

We can thank the arch-heretic Luther for that gem

Look how much damage and misery that belief has caused us down through history. Since that belief came on the scene, there have been far more wars and other kinds of murder (Roe v Wade comes to mind) than in the yrs b4 Luther

(I've studied history more/less extensively, although all those who study history wish they knew more)

The 20th century was particulary brutal and bloody and diabolical: Hitler, Stalin, Mao, and again: Roe v Wade

once saved always saved? This is taught by people who believe in the Bible and ONLY the Bible (as a way of knowing Jesus)? I mean, the word Irony does not begin to say it. They claim to go only by the Bible.. dont need a pope, don't need a physical Church, etc... just me and my Bible. And yet they throw out things in the Bible that are very, very clear. OSAS is not only NOT in the Bible, cannot be construed from reading the Bible.. the exact opposite is in the Bible. Jesus said that FEW make it to Heaven (Mt 7, Lk 13, etc)

Somewhere in the NT God is referred to as a tough taskmaster. And i could go on and on.

Jesus said that unless you keep his Commandments, you are not his follower. So this OSAS stuff is just unbelievably false and catastrophic in its end results

I hope all Catholics out there are standing up against their heretical neighbors who believe this Hell-worthy "doctrine of demons"

  • I know you Catholics don't agree with osas

but don't you have to discuss this kind of thing w/ protestants you know?

as you know the Church teaches that if you dont evangelize, you jeopardize your salvation

  • In a sense, once a person is saved they are always saved because...

A person is never saved until they are in heaven and then, well, there that is the end of their judgment.   ;D

But, yeah...  Try and tell a Protestant that and they will most likely look at you weird...   ::)

I wish that were all they did

I have seen the devil emerge  :(

I wish i could say I were joking

anyhow.. thanks for that thought/reality: that we are always saved once we are saved, which is only in Heaven.. great answer.

one scripture that refutes osas is "Work out your salvation w/ fear and trembling" Phil 2:12

then there is that one about He who endures to the end will be saved.. which is a total Purgatory psg becasue notice how it says WILL BE SAVED. Even if you endure  until the end, you are still not necessarily saved, as in: you have arrived... you are done.. because it doesn't say he who endures to the end IS saved, but WILL BE

I know what you mean...  Well, we will just have to pray, do penance and be a good example...  That is how Our Blessed Lord said that devils are to be cast out.   :)
Don't be too discouraged.  Many people do not know what good they do for others until after their death.  Keep fighting the good fight and may God bless you! :)

    thanks for that :)

the world is so antiChrist, which i know more and more as the years go by.. The young are so clueless, which by the way is why it is mostly young people who are Democrats. Most of the people Tucker argues with are young.. meaning: clueless

and yet it is not only time that gives clue-full-ness LOL, it is the Church

you can see how much people need Christ's one true Church--by all the insanity going on in the world which largely involves those outside said Church

Yes...  It is a sad and depraved world which we live in...
Yet, God has put us in the world at this time to make a difference for the better!
So, until things get better let us focus on accomplishing these three things:

    1.  To preserve the True Faith...

    2.  To spread hope...

    3.  To live a life of charity...

    God bless!   :)

It is not always easy to follow the True Faith, but it is simple.  In fact, I believe that this is why Our Blessed Lord said that, "Unless you become like little children you shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven."   :)
You are not alone in being attacked...  Such is the life of anyone who tries to live virtuously.  The saints say that trials are the lot of the faithful on earth, for which in return they gain ever lasting life.  While the unfaithful receive their reward on earth and punishment in the next life.  The saints also say that whenever you feel like giving up, remember that it is during such times that God is most closely watching over you and you gain the most graces.
I have been attacked in so many ways over the past 7 years of being a traditional Catholic that I have almost become numb to insults.  The more a person uses their hands for manual labor the tougher their hands get.  In a similar way, the soul toughens up the more a person lets insults and ill-treatment bounce off them and not take them too much to heart.  It is not easy, but eventually through these means one learns to overcome their selfish inclinations and reach a higher level of virtuousness.  I still pray to achieve that goal one day rather than just read about it...  ;D

    really enjoyed (appreciated) this. Thanks
I already knew most of it, but sometimes we just need to hear things over and over.
I learned these things the hard way, but of course i also learned through the Church, which has Mass every day. you probbably know that going to daily Mass every day for 3 yrs means hearing virtually the entire Bible? I haven't been going to traditional Mass but only b/c there is not one in my area (etc). Still, the Scrptures are read at NO masses also.. and so i learned the word. As St Jerome said Ignorance of Scripture is ignorance of Christ..
I will go to traditional masses @ least sometimes, or try.. I am fed up with the priests in the NO community

You are welcome!  I am glad to do what I can to help!  And I know what you mean about sometimes just needed to hear someone tell you and confirm what you already know.  I also appreciate it during times when I am struggling... :)
The novus ordo community can be overwhelming...  Do try to make it the the traditional Mass if you can!  I am sorry that you are not able to attend Mass...  Is there any way that you can move closer to a chapel?  What city do you live near?  I could look around and see if I can find anything...
As for the Bible...  My father used to tell me that if a person read a chapter every day that it would take about 3 years to read through the whole Bible.  As a result of this, we grew up reading the Bible at dinner almost every night, and so I am rather familiar with it.  I am very grateful for that since it seems that many Catholics don't really read the Bible that much...

  • I have also told Protestants only people in heaven are saved; these Protestants get really mad.
I can imagine!  They are probably like this:  :really-mad2:  "How dare you even suggest that I am not already saved!"  ;)

Maybe Anonymous could send a message to AMDG if she doesn't want to give her location on the site. Anyone of us would be happy to help out.

I really appreciate how you are not snarky.. well, maybe you are sometimes LOL... Are you like me: not snarky unless someone is an idiot to you? I guess i am sorta confessing here.. can't seem to find a good priest to confess to, so i confess to some stranger on the internet... :) BTW: have you ever felt worse after confession than b4? Or maybe i should ask that of the NO folks? that has happened to me.. yet the NO priests sometimes go on and and on about how  good confession is for a person, how "good" u feel afterward... well, i haven't felt good after confession in a long time.. and i believe it is b/c of.. norvus  ordo.

i am digressing all over the place here, forgot my original point.. You asked about find a traditional church. Well, who knows where God leads people (if only they will let him)..

i wish i could recall my original thought.. I seem to recall only that it was a good one... sigh

yeh, if a person hears the scripture readings at daily Mass.. even at novus ordo masses.. he will basically hear the whole Bible after 3 yrs.. so i have heard the Bible over and over and over again. That is one thing the NO people do right.. they don't change which scripture psgs are used... i don't think anyway??
