Does anyone know how to get an old person to stop reading out loud at Mass?  

Is it old age that make old people unable to read  or pray silently without moving their lips in Church?

I'm serious Jack.  I need to get her to shut up without sinning.

Go sit next to the mother with four children under 6 and then sitting next to the old lady will be easier. Offer it up.

In my experience, the best thing to do is to inform the priest of your observation.

I had to laugh and agree that sitting next to a family with children and a fussy baby is more to contend with.  And I agree with Marsha, move and Offering it up is a great idea.  

For me, I see this lady coming into church with a kitchen size bag full and her other bag, purse.  She is dementia and a husband who left her years ago for she was too holy for her, he said.  Very sad, for regression is worse than death and the mind can break.

Tell him your going to put him in a home if he keeps it up.  Hopefully there'll be somebody around to do the same for you when you get old.

This post is worthy of trolling, because the title is irrational compared to the proposed complaint.
