So bad, the Catholic Church has become no different than progressive Protestant denominations. I haven't attended mass since my kids received their first communion (which was a nightmare process) ... I have no where to go for mass. So I stay home , teach my children the faith, homeschool and pray. I went through a long conversion, becoming catholic because of the church's teachings on life (abortion contraception) and ɧoɱosɛҳųαƖity... Leaving the homo loving episcopal church the year they voted in the homo bishop.
I have no "home". And honestly I'm fine with that.
I understand your predicament and I feel for you and will pray for you and your family. But I would advise against looking at this lamentable and extraordinary circuмstance we are all in today as anything other than lamentable and extraordinary.
We should not be "fine" living without the Sacraments. Pray that a Catholic priest will soon become available to you and your family. And pray unceasingly for the restoration of the Catholic Church to Her former glorious state.
I live in a very rural area, but a catholic town founded by German catholics. We have "new age" monasteries. As well as very conservative parishes that have blinders on. I honestly do not know what to do! I've spoken of it a few times here. All the TLM parishes are under the bishop... Now. I'm talking with a friend that attends a TLM parish that just recently decided to be under the authority of the bishop. Pray that something becomes of that.
What do you do? I feel Protestant again. Like, I can not walk through the doors of my parish.
Is anyone willing to talk to me privately? I've been here long enough to private message now. I'd like opinions on a local TLM parish and opinions on what I should do.
I guess that I feel "fine" because I don't have any other choice right now.
That you, in your words, "feel like a Protestant again" is why I warn against "feeling fine" with living without the Sacraments. "Home alone-ism" is I think an especially precarious state to be in for one who has only recently escaped (by God's Grace) the "alone-isms" of Protestantism.
If you have no access to the SSPX or other groups or independent priests, but you do have access to an FSSP TLM, then go there. FSSP priests are very reliably orthodox (listen to their sermons on Audio Sancto for proof) and questions raised about the validity of their orders are overblown to say the least (see Fr Gregory Hesse on the validity of Novus Ordo orders).
Unless your local TLM is being offered by some modernist heretic deceptively preaching half-truths and soft heresy to the Faithful looking for Tradition (which unfortunately does happen not infrequently) I would go there. Especially if it is FSSP. You will be in safe hands with nearly all FSSP priests.
Otherwise, if you have access to an Eastern Rite Catholic parish, go there. There you can be certain (as long as it's not Maronite) that you are receiving the Sacraments validly and traditionally.
