Novus Ordo Exorcism Successful

    • You will understand why I am keeping this anonymous. But I received a Novus Ordo Exorcism from a foreign born Novus Ordo priest who obviously had the faith. And the exorcism worked, at least for now, the demons have left me and I am at peace, for now. The experience has changed my views on Novus Ordo orders. I now think they are valid and now I think the Novus Ordo mass is valid, even though it is bad compared to the Latin Mass. So I guess now if I had to I would go to confession to a Novus Ordo priest.

    • Some Sedes do actually say that the Novus Ordo holy orders are completely invalid, every time.  However, there are plenty of trads and maybe even some sedes who take more moderate positions than that.

    • Your experience doesn't confirm the validity of the new rite.  Emotions and feelings are not sacraments.  Also, your experience does not mean that every new rite priest is actually a priest.  All your experience proves is that Christ gave you peace through some exorcism prayers.

    Why would Our Lord Jesus Christ allow a man outside the Church to speak with His authority?  Exorcisms are efficacious when and because the minister has the authority of Christ.  Does Christ give His authority to those who belong to non-Catholic religions?

    • Demonic Obsession

    Back in the early 1980s, I received some help from Father John Hampsch of the Claretians, but it was only temporary.

    I had stayed at the home of one of my business associates while she was visiting Europe, but unbeknownst to me, that "friend" had a set of tarot cards, so I began having demonic nightmares. Even though those Tarot cards were revealed to me in a mystical way, and I was able to find and destroy them, the demonic nightmares continued. I sought the prayers of Father Hampsch, and they were effective for a few months, but they returned. While this was not demonic possession, but rather demonic obsession, it was still very scary.

    Finally, months later, in desperation, I sought the help of a traditional priest, and I was able to sleep without fear of being haunted in my dreams.

    Note: Father Hampsch was ordained before Vatican II in 1952, so his prayer life seems to be more devout, but he does celebrate the novus ordo mass and is part of the Charismatic Renewal, which has its own problems, namely that of ecuмenism, where he has prayed with Protestant ministers as part of Charismatic ministries.

    The new rite of exorcism doesn’t work, just like the new mass is a fake liturgy.  Anyone can pray in Christ’s name and Christ can answer that prayer.  It doesn’t mean it’s a full-blown exorcism.  It just means that prayer works.  And, yes, anyone can pray to Christ for deliverance from the devil; Protestants do it all the time.  Sometimes it works; sometimes it doesn’t last.

    There are various levels of demonic affliction to a soul, with an exorcism only used for the worst case, a possession.  This is why before an exorcism, the Bishop's Office investigates the matter.  The Church does not hand out exorcisms for any and all complaints.  

    Lower level afflictions like curses or oppressions are not sanctioned by the Church for an exorcism, usually.  In these cases, priests are not required but prayers from anyone can work, if God so wills it.

    • The traditional priest used the prayers of exorcism from St. Basil and St. John Chrysostom. These two prayers are short, but extremely effective.

    These two prayers can be used for oppression, possession, and curses placed on an individual.

    They are in the Book of Needs used by Eastern Catholic priests. My priest was bi-ritual saying the Latin Traditional Mass and the Byzantine Divine Liturgy.

    • Didn't Fr Amorth say that he used the new rite of exorcism once and the demon laughed in his face saying it was useless? I'll take that over an anonymous account online.

    Also, I've heard priests say that the best way to deal with the demonic is prayer, sacraments, and sacramentals. The Church should only use solemn exorcism when all other options are extinguished in an investigation is my understanding. I also think Fr Amorth had once said a good Confession can help 99% of people who are bothered, because mortal sin binds us to the devil and sanctifying grace is the life of God in our souls.

    Only true priests can exorcise, using the true rite of the Church.  But anyone can pray to be loosed from a curse or demonic oppression through Christ's name.

    Then there's no reason why non-Catholics cannot perform successful exorcisms, then? Protestants, new-agers, etc.?
