This was reported last summer in the trad press.

    Their brothers in Brazil?

  • The ones I have met from Our Lady of Guadalupe were very rugged and manly, hard-working for Our Lord and strong in Faith.

Oh, believe me I have no doubt of that.

I'm simply curious how and to what extent
They are involved in recent politics.
I have no intent on casting doubts on their
Integrity in terms of keeping the faith.

Aside from that they aren't even an
Official part of the SSPX if I understand
    Correctly.

8-10-12: Fr. Cyprian (Silver City, New Mexico Benedictines) gives highest praises to Bp. Fellay

Fr. Cyprian, the Benedictine prior of the Monastery of Our Lady of Guadalupe, recently made the following statement:

His Excellency Bishop Bernard Fellay, in his magnanimous spirit of faith and charity, has given his approval and blessing to the ordination of our priests.  How grateful we are to God and to this most faithful son of Archbishop Lefebvre for this eternal gift of the priesthood" [/i](Quoted from the Summer 2012 newsletter of Our Lady of Guadalupe Monastery)

Note that there is no reference to Bishop Tissier de Mallerais, the bishop who actually ordained those Benedictines.  Judge for yourselves to which side Fr. Cyprian is giving his support.

Our opinion:  What a sad contrast are Fr. Cyprian's words to the stand taken by his fellow religous - the French Dominicans who recently wrote an excellent article against Bishop Fellay's errors.   Fr. Cyprian is quite aware of the division in the SSPX, the brave stand taken by the various bishops and priests, and the stance taken by the French Dominicans.   He could have easily skipped the words of high praise; a simple thank you to Bp. Fellay would have been appropriate if Fr. Cyprian were against the current sellout.   And, he could have (and should have!!) thanked Bp. Tissier by name.   Hmmm...
