Yes, this sounds like a tough situation, but God will reward your charity and things will work out!  The biggest problem is that you're probably limited in jobs, because you teach.  Can you change careers and get a job that let's you work remotely (i.e. login from a computer...this type of job is becoming more mainstream)?  (I know that could be a crazy thought, just trying to "think outside the box").  Could you build a "tiny home" in your parents backyard?  Could you get a job close to where your parents live?  If they can't move, then staying closer to them is the only solution.

My computer skills are exceedingly poor.  I don't own a computer, just a tablet.  
No, I wouldn't find any job near my parents that will pay my keep or that includes benefits like healthcare.  I cannot afford to self-pay, and of course, living with one's parents eliminates any chance of getting social services. 
I know a few very small "christian" schools that would love to have me teach, but they can't pay a salary.  There's an SSPX school that refused my occasional services as a volunteer tutor BECAUSE I have an M.A./M.S. Edu. and dual certification in two states!  I used to drive two hours to hear Mass there until 2015 when I was shown the door by the priest.  (They assume I'm a flaming liberal feminist?  Communist?  A Freemasonic spy?)  Small religious schools tend to rely on volunteers like stay at home moms, college kids who live at home, and retired people.   Public schools are out of the question because of the immorality I'd have to teach.  They'd take one look at my background and wouldn't want me, anyway!   
Zoning laws make tiny houses impossible.  

Are there any grocery/retail stores that you could work at while living with your parents? I'm a woman in my early 60's, with health problems, but I manage to work part-time in a grocery/retail store that's an affiliate of a large national grocery chain (Kroger). Even though I work part-time, I have full medical and dental benefits, with a low deductible.

No Krogers or lots of other "middle America" chains in NYC or surrounding metro area.  Groceries and like places tend to be smaller, ethnic, local chains like Key Food, Food Bazaar, Handy Pantry.  They're strictly minimum wage, part time, 0 hour type jobs.  Nothing I can live on after my parents pass away or have to live in a nursing home.  The latter is only if it is not possible to provide care at home.
