  • Pray for the sister of my sedevacantist friend. She has COVID. They live together. My friend is in the hospital. He didn't tell me why. But his sister has COVID. I can't visit him now for a month or so because I don't want to get infected. Not that I am afraid of COVID but my father is and I don't want to get him sick. He is old and ill.

  • I had it recently.  Still have the lingering effects of pneumonia.  Feels like recovering from that will be long and slow.  I have lost 20kg and my appetite is very suppressed.  Only want to drink water and eat a tea saucer of food 3 times a day so sticking to healthy unprocessed foods.

There, fixed it for you. Your Catholic friend’s sister has my prayers.
For what doth it profit a man, if he gain the whole world, and suffer the loss of his own soul? Or what exchange shall a man give for his soul?

Did you end up in the hospital, or have you been recovering at home?

Interesting. I have not so much decreased appetite as I have early satiety. Since coming home after a very long hospitalization, I get hungry. but get full with about a ¼ plate of food. Drinking lots of fluid to loosen very tenacious mucus that causes breathlessness and coughing fits.
    Expect 6-12 months for recovery.

  • Was at home.  First week high temperature and flu symptoms.  Second week dizziness and breathlessness with mental confusion and difficult to organise thoughts. Third week just breathlessness but fine when sleeping or sitting down and brain fog lifted.  Now at start of 4th week breathlessness with any sort of exertion but can sit at a computer and work.  Pain taking deep breaths.  Hot drinks and 1 aspirin a day.  Improvement appears very slow

  • VERY slowly, as in "as slow as a glacier." Expect 6-12 months to regain your endurance. It's hard to be patient, but you describe your illness as mild enough that you will probably recover completely.

  • Yes plenty of sunshine.
Prayers for your friend's sister and for Tallin Trad. and there may be someone else, but hard to say when anonymous. I always reckon that Anon should be given a number so when he/she comes back we can follow the discussion more easily.

  • Interesting experience today.  Took my children to a local playground.  Half mile walk.  Had to stop 3 times on the way as I ran out of breath every 250 yards.  Sat on a wall or park bench for 30 to 60 seconds and made deep slower breaths. Sat down at playground for 25 min while children played.

Managed to walk home in one go at a normal pace of just under 3mph and did not need a break.  Suggests that the metabolism takes some warming up.  Tomorrow will take it easy for first half mile then do 1.5 miles more.  Only problem I have now is the breathlessness.  Before Covid I was pretty healthy and could do heavy manual labour for several days in a row before being exhausted.  Don't drink, never smoked.
