  • There was a debate on another forum over how a "McMansion" should be defined.

    No, I don't think this is a McMansion.  But it gives you an idea of what real estate actually goes for in this part of the country:

  • No, it's not a McMansion.

    I actually haven't seen many in person, but I understand that they're basically a mansion, only "mass produced" and lots of aspiring rich people have them. By "aspiring rich people" I mean not the truly wealthy, but the upper middle class who make perhaps $250,000 or $300,000 a year (combined income -- his and hers) and can afford the payments on such a beast.

    Traditionally, mansions had names or at least a lot of personality -- after all, each town would only have one or two!

    But McMansions don't have names or personality, because they're mass produced just like homes in a subdivision -- only McMansions are 5,000 sf. and much nicer.
