[AVREF 39/47 The Black Book of the Society of St. Pius X]
And when you combine asset management and law, what does it look like? That gives Mr. Maximilian Krah, a German jurist who deserves more than a brief mention. Born in 1977,
Mr. Krah is a brilliant business lawyer from Dresden and a man of unusual connections known by
    65
those who have dug into the question. As we will see below, Mr. Krah wields considerable power on the finances of the SSPX.
International Finance, Tax Havens and Private Foundations. But what exactly is Mr. Krah's role in the SSPX? In January 2009, he contributed to the creation of the
a joint-stock company Dello Sarto A.G., based in the tax haven of Zug (registration number of Trade: CH-170.3.033.031-9) 67.  This company was designed primarily to transfer
from Austria to Switzerland a large sum of money from a bequest. Receipt of donations, bequests and inheritance is indeed an important activity of the FSSPX 68.
In this case, the inheritance belonged to Rosa von Gutmann, the widow of a wealthy businessman. He was himself the heir to a great "dynasty" of steel industrialists, whose fortunes dated back to the 19th century.
the time of the Austro-Hungarian monarchy. As early as 1985, Baroness von Gutmann had left her splendid Jaidhof Castle
    69
leased to the Austrian District of the Society of St. Pius X, which had settled there its headquarters.70    In 1996, it went even further, establishing in favour of the same district
a bequest of more than $120 million, not to mention the castle. When Baroness von Gutmann died in November 2003, so the Austrian SSPX district was to receive the castle
and funds. But Bishop Fellay did not see it that way: he left the castle to the district of Austria but decides that it is up to him to recover the sum, which is placed in a foundation. He then dismissed his
the superior of Austria, who dared to resist him. However, this is not enough: he needs specialized advice because of a legal imbroglio that drags on. Finally, Mr. Krah created in
Austria in January 2009 a private foundation to receive the funds, the Jaidhofer Privatstiftung St. Josef und Marcellus (company registration number: FN 321626f) 71.  Krah is one of the
three administrators, one of the other two being the private secretary at the time to Bishop Fellay, the abbot Vonlanthen, since the ultimate goal was to get these funds into Menzingen's hands.
Maximilian Krah has signing authority in both the Austrian Jaidhof Foundation than in the Swiss company Dello Sarto.
We thus see the crucial power held by Mr. Krah at the heart of the SSPX. This is particularly surprising when you consider that he is a layman, and that the SSPX is a priestly fraternity, where everything is
supposed to be focused on the priesthood and the clergy: this is the place to recall this fundamental article of the 'The purpose of the SSPX is "the priesthood and all that pertains to it and nothing but that which is the priesthood."
concerns him"72. Obviously, when major material interests are at stake, Archbishop Fellay knows how to make decisions about the matter. exceptions to the most fundamental principles. And it seems that, to thank Mr. Krah for
having pulled this big thorn out of his side, the Brotherhood presented itself as his employer for enroll them in the prestigious EMBA-global master's degree in business, whose registration fees are astronomical.
In short, in August 2015, the liquidation of the company Dello Sarto was published, including the chairman of the board

The board of directors was Krah, the members being Krah himself, as well as Fellay, Niklaus Pfluger (then 1st Assistant General) and Emeric Baudot (then General Treasurer of the SSPX).
Finance and law as instruments of power?
Accustomed to high finance, Bernard Fellay did not limit himself to this Austro-Swiss operation; he is increasing the number of companies and foundations, particularly in neighbouring Liechtenstein, and dedicating a share of the of his energies to the management of the fortunes of his Fraternity. To our knowledge, there is no of personal enrichment, but Archbishop Fellay seems to be using money and law as instruments
This is particularly alarming in a fraternity that harbors abuses within it.
Combined with a near-obsession with legal certainty, Archbishop Fellay's interest in money-power is intended to allow him to remove anyone who is tempted to overshadow him. Thus, in 2011, Mr. Krah,
acting on behalf of Archbishop Fellay, threatens to sue an administrator of the blog Ignis Ardens, who criticized the links between him and the SSPX. In the end, the director is forced to resign.
This is very useful for silencing disturbing voices. In the same year, Mr. Krah assisted Bishop Fellay and his predecessor, Father Franz Schmidberger, in a
criminal complaint against a retired Belgian parish priest, Father Paul Schoonbroodt, for "defamation" (having published articles about the links between the Dresden lawyer and Archbishop Fellay), for "incitement to hatred" racial" (?) and for theft of intellectual property. Abbé Schoonbroodt had in fact reproduced many of the numerous homilies by Archbishop Lefebvre, what Archbishop Fellay had considered to be a "theft [of]...

    No surprise here.
