As long as you are confessing pertinent details which MIGHT affect the nature of the sin, you should mention it.

No need to get into salacious details -- I think common sense should help you distinguish between the two.

As several members above phrased it -- pretty matter-of-fact, clinical -- that's what you're aiming for.

But to answer your question, YES you should tell the full nature of the sin -- "porn" could be the lingerie section of a JC Penney catalog. But there is "hardcore" porn, and a lot of garbage which affects your soul and body much more. If there was violence, murder, sacrilege, etc. those things should be mentioned.

Remember, beyond getting absolution, you're also hoping for helpful advice from the priest you're confessing to. He's on your side; he wants you to be happy forever in heaven. He's there to help. That's what he sacrificed his life for.

If you're eating a lot of starches or fructose that can be exaggerating the urge. Eat meat and dairy, especially high meat and kefir to heal your nervous system and gut health. Listen to Ave Maria and relax.

When it comes to quitting, everyone will tell you to find something productive to do. You should, but even laying down and doing nothing is far better. Don't turn on the TV and cloud your mind, meditate and pray.

Bad advice "laying down and doing nothing is far better". That is about the worst advice you could give someone recovering from porn use.

An idle mind is the devil's workshop. It doesn't matter if you're PLAYING, watching a (decent) movie, studying, working -- but do SOMETHING. Never just laze around waiting for the devil to make suggestions.

Only after you start eating the kefir especially.

Non pasteurized kefir.

I'm not going to get explicit but I can look at the stuff now, I did once on purpose as an experiement, and not feel a thing besides disgust, because my nervous system healed itself, even if it hasn't healed all the way yet.

Used to I would get swept away and passionate with that kind of imagery. That's a sign of an unhealthy nervous system, or if your nerves are fine it's a sign of ketosis.

They call passion "hunger" for a reason.

If a woman I trust were to intice me everything would still work the same, but looking at pixels or hearing something innapropriate doesn't do it anymore, and I'm glad.

Our nerves run on 60-80% saturated fat, if you're starving you will be "starving." It doesn't make you docile, it has helped marriages as far as married men's accounts go, you will heal urges in at least some part after switching to saturated fat over carbohydrates.
