    • Let's put it this way:

    You'd have to be pretty STUPID to think it's even "open for debate" that further shortages are not just possible, but HIGHLY LIKELY.

    That much is not open for debate. We all SAW the shortages in 2020. And Texans got an additional wake-up call with the Texas Blizzard of 2021. And are you blind? There are shortages to the present day. I still can't buy a riding lawnmower for 4+ months and counting, even with cash in hand. Not anywhere. Too many parts missing. Local dealers are faced with going out of business. They can't get product to sell! Restaurants have signs on their doors listing what menu items are not available. And let's not get into the current labor shortage!

    So the only question is WHAT DAY and WHAT PRODUCTS -- what will the list, or sequence, of shortages be?

    But since we can't know that with any certainty, the only rational course of action would be to PREPARE. Now.

    • If you go to Walmart, Cash and Carry, Winco or any bulk retailer you will know that they can't keep product on the shelves fast enough and that backrooms are empty, truck sizes are increasing. Ask ANY checker working at these places and they will tell you sale by the flat is through the roof too. Even people who are completely "asleep" and buying into the Delta Variant narrative are stockpiling.
    The point all being... Massive shortages are a fact of life now. I do doubt trucker strikes will happen though, there have been multiple false alarms in this vein over the last ten years and nothing happened. The military will put these people at gunpoint if necessary. All crises that "they" allow to happen are controllable (fires, economic, and otherwise) and serve a specific purpose (including hurricanes etc). Trucking shortages is what many would bill as an SHTF scenario, which is why they probably have contingencies for it.

    • I work part-time at a grocery store, which is an affiliate branch of one of the largest chains in the U.S. 

    At this time, there haven't been any shortages that I have seen. But it may be coming soon. We have received a lot more masks for sale this week, because of the stupid "Delta Variant" propaganda. 

    I was so happy, however, when leaving work yesterday, to see a group of anti-vax and anti-mask protestors near the store on a street corner holding anti-vax and anti-mask signs, and many cars were honking and yelling out of their car windows in support of them. I recently moved from the uber-liberal Seattle area to Central Washington, where there are far more conservatives. 

    I can post on this thread again, if I see shortages occur in my store.

    • There are a few Costcos in my metro area. The one I went to yesterday had everything normally available.

    • Except for bulk ammo, the Phoenix area is currently OK. Even firearms are available though the selection is a bit thin.

    That said, the time to top off was YESTERDAY!  :cowboy:

    • If I had more disposable income, there would be much prep stuff to buy. Ammo to be found still up here but selection dwindling by the week. 
    Food prices……yeesh!

    Be careful with that.  This crisis has lots of rookies trying their hand at reloads.  6 months ago, I bought 400 10mm reloads from a guy I know who’s been doing it for decades.
    First one I shot out of my Glock 20 went kaboom.
    I was lucky to survive.

    What do you mean by “kaboom”? Did it have too little powder and did the bullet get stuck in the barrel?

    The round fired through the barrel, but the mag eject button hit me under the left eye, and my right/firing hand was burned by powder coming out the back of the slide.  The bottom of the 15 rd mag was blown out (scattering all the other rounds).

    • We’ve had ongoing shortages here in Tennessee for months now. Grocery stores have randomly empty shelves of many different things. Then all of a sudden will be back in stock and others items are then gone. Strange that some of the stores here are renovating and moving things around too. The other day all the toilet paper was hard to find again
