  • I wouldn't think so. In England some of the pagan temples were used as churches but only after they had been exorcised, spiritually cleansed & consecrated as churches. If anything I would think that prot "worship" is in a way even more hateful to God than outright idolatry as it is a deliberate perversion & mutilation of His revealed truth.

  • It seems to me that it would be preferable to say Mass in a completely secular place.
Stir up within Thy Church, we beseech Thee, O Lord, the Spirit with which blessed Josaphat, Thy Martyr and Bishop, was filled, when he laid down his life for his sheep: so that, through his intercession, we too may be moved and strengthen by the same Spir

Agree.  Mass in building dedicated to false worship?   Would you want Mass in a ѕуηαgσgυє? A mosque?  A Hindu temple?  A Buddhist temple?  I think a hotel room, the VFW Hall, the local firehouse or ambulance garage, or someone's home, garage, barn, or backyard is preferable.  Purchasing a building from Protestants and making it into a Catholic Church is another matter.

St. Francis Xavier threw a Crucifix into the sea, at once calming the waves.  Upon reaching the shore, the Crucifix was returned to him by a crab with a curious cross pattern on its shell.

Why? Did the Catholic church burn down?

  • Reminds me, Robert Schuller's  Crystal Cathedral was purchased by the diocese of Orange and turned into the new cathedral a couple years ago.

I thought Schuller was a great man, although a protestant minister. I have no problem with him. Sadly, his wife just passed away too, yesterday.

While I have no problem with Schuller, I do have a problem with the diocese purchasing a protestant building, especially to designate it a cathedral.

  • How can they buy or build buildings when they (novous ordo hierarchy)  have closed down many historical Catholic Churches and schools claiming financial hardships. They often lie.  And when you confront these hypocrits in America, they turn around and and scream slander.

After all, Jesus Christ is the way.   Christ is the truth.
May God bless you and keep you

  • The SSPX church I go to was once a protestant "church".

    We conquered it.

  • Before I started going there, my SSPX chapel was in the basement of an Orthodox Church. Now it is in a hotel for members of the military.
