Civil unions is indistinguishable from marriage.  It is still marriage under a different name.  So a State does not prevent any evil by permitting civil unions.

Whoever wrote above that Bergoglio hates civil unions is either an idiot or is an outright evil liar.  He actually endorsed civil unions in Argentina in order to be able to give sodomites marriage while pretending to uphold the Church's teaching on marriage.  Of course, the person who wrote that is of the same kind as Bergoglio who shares that very same quality with Satan himself.
