  • I think you're reading too much into this, LOT. You just post about one subject, hammering on it ad nauseam, and I am pretty sure most people already grasp your arguments, and have for a while, if you look at the history of this forum. It's an issue that's divisive (and really shouldn't be, but it is what it is) because it deals with "what ifs" that don't involve us. So when I made the thread about you, it was because personally, and I think others agree, that this issue has been beaten like a dead horse, and needs to be laid off for a while. No one here "hates" you.

But let your speech be yea, yea: no, no: and that which is over and above these, is of evil.

Thanks for your candidness parentsfortruth!  Quite Frankly I have not read all the threads on it.  I am not aware how much it has been talked about and debated.  But I do know it is debated alot and shouldn't be.

But it does not seem dead because people keep responding to it.  If it dies I will let it go.  I do not like the Feeneyite error/heresy being posted on a Catholic site.  My motives are mostly pure (I want to think they are entirely pure but they are not) in that I just want to help as much as I can to help people avoid error.  I do not want people mislead on a vital Catholic teaching and they are.

If I had to err on one side or the other I would err on the Feeneyite side.  But I don't want to err at all and I want to help prevent others from doing so.

To me the issue is not dead as long as people respond erroneously to the posts on the issue.  It really does not seem dead to me at all.

    Do you see my point?

Also it really is not difficult and I do not mean this sarcastically, to not read posts that you are not interested in and it should not bother that something you are not interested in is posted.  Believe me I skip countless posts and do not even look in some categories of posts.  I am not bothered at all that things I am not interested in are posted here.

Do you see what I am saying?

Thanks for telling me your thoughts.  It is hard to get people to say what they really mean sometimes.
"I receive Thee, redeeming Prince of my soul. Out of love for Thee have I studied, watched through many nights, and exerted myself: Thee did I preach and teach. I have never said aught against Thee. Nor do I persist stubbornly in my views. If I have ever expressed myself erroneously on this Sacrament, I submit to the judgement of the Holy Roman Church, in obedience of which I now part from this world." • Also I think the "what ifs" you speak of involve which individuals are saved and which are not.  But what I am trying to get across is not an what if but a de fide fact that non-members even if not baptized with water can be saved within the Church.  This is what is missed.  This is what is not understood and needs to be.

I hope you don't mind if I ask if you see my point because I try so hard to express myself clearly but people do not seem to get it.

I do know that sometimes I do not express myself clearly and that is why I am misunderstood, I have looked back and said, did I really word it that way?  But I believe I have improved on that.  I believe I am clear, but you would not know by the responses or lack of responses when I ask pointed questions that are not answered.

  • Obsession with oneself is spiritually, morally, psychologically unhealthy... And wasting the amount of time it must have taken you to compose this pointless, self-indulgent paean to self pity is manifestly self-obsessive.

If your disputations have led you down this road, they have ceased to be edifying - either to yourself or your opponents.

Take a break from posting. Intensify your prayers and self-mortifications. Do some spiritual reading. Perform acts of charity.

In time, you will, with God's help, have gone out of yourself sufficiently to resume your disputations and fraternal corrections in the charitable, self-disinterested spirit in which they must be undertaken.

    God bless.

  • No one should.
But we should certainly keep in mind Lover of "truth" 's track record on cathinfo.
Some of it is not very wholesome.

  • I was disgusted by Lover of "truth"'s dishonest conduct last year.
Then, some time ago, he started to make very good posts in favour of the Sede belief.
He also made good posts against the Feeneyites.
I was actually thumbing him up, until it said "as well get out the pom-poms"
I actually reached the limit of how many up-thumbs I could give him.

Then Lover of "truth" just threw it all away, very recently, by going back to disgraceful behaviour.

So, once again, I despise Lover of "truth".

  • gregory needs to stick to making posts against the Feeneyites, and posts supporting the Sedes.
Then he actually is of some use.
